For a few nights it's okay.
Reviewed By sebuzzieThe apartments are noisy and you constantly hear the moving of chairs. The reception is closed even when it's supposed to be open. The spa was closed so we couldn't use that. And there were an insane amount of wasps. The bed was too small for me to lie in (1,88 meter) so I had to sleep on the couch. There wasn't all the cutlery we needed (no scissors for instance). I do have to say the people at the reception are very friendly and we did enjoy the swimming pool. Although it wasn't big, we could swim and enjoy reading a book in the sun.

Reviewed By dreamingofavignonWe just got back from five nights at the Lagrange Vacation Apartments near the new Lascaux Four interpretation site. We paid around 60 euros a night for a three-bedroom apartment that was well outfitted for our stay. You are walking distance to Lascaux 4 but that is about it as a car is a definite requirement. Visiting this area in March meant that we had the entire place to ourselves which was very tranquil. I can imagine that the summer months would make for a more bustling environment around the pool and the grounds. For our group of five, it made for a perfect base to explore the Dordogne. One recommendation I have is to go through Lagrange Vacations for your booking as it is cheaper to book through their site.

Great stay and great hospitality
Reviewed By 20guymWe stayed at les jardin du Porche for 10 days. We were two families with kids. The facilities are brand new and Alex the owner gives attention even to the smallest details. I would recommend this location since it is close by to the town center and very easy to approach.

Until the 1980's the house lodged the 'Cafe de la Renaissance'. In the same place, four fully furnished apartments, carefully restored with natural bio-materials, accommodate the travellers dedicating themselves to discover the charms of Montaigne, the traces of cultures from Stone Age, Roman architecture, Middle Age and modern times - on foot, bicycle or horse. Description of the apartments : Rooms: Three rooms in the form of small 50m2 apartment with private bathroom, a parent bedroom, a child bedroom and a living room. A room is composed of a single chaambre with ain and private WC. All rooms are furnished with furniture found in the region and typical of this French region. The beds have been carefully selected to bring you a very high quality of sleep for a relaxing stay. One bedroom has two electric beds.

Reviewed By vbl623We stayed 2 nights in this calm and beautifully decorated house in St Michel Montaigne (near St Emilion Dordogne) Breakfast was nice with all homemade products. All the information given by Laurence about where to eat and what to do in the region was helpful and made our stay more pleasant. Interaction with other guests was pleasant as well. The host puts a lot of energy to make all guests feel comfortable.

Le Clos des Pelissous is located in the Pecharmant winearea, few kilometers away from Bergerac, in a small privately owned hamlet of typically Perigordine style farmhouses. It offers accomodation for a few nights in one of its three guest rooms (bed and breakfast), or on a weekly basis in its holiday cottage (« Le Cep », 4 people). Ammenities on site include swimming pool, hot tub, shaded garden, petanque field…. A second, fully independent holiday cottage is located closeby.

They have been brilliant hosts, we enjoyed our little chats in the evening whilst drinking some of the local reds watching the amazing sun sets over Bergerac.The accommodation is furnished to a very high standard and spotlessly clean. All in all it has been a magical week and we will be most definitely returning in the spring. Thank you both for being so welcoming and look forward to seeing you soon. Oh and if you are Lucky Lydia will bake you a cake as part of your breakfast. Steve & Jane.

Great relaxing family holiday

There were three (1 child) of us staying in a gorgeous room overlooking the great garden and river. Direct safe access for swimming was a plus. Really relaxing and our English spoken hosts could not have been more gracious with fresh croissants every morning and option for dinner, which we took advantage of on a few occasions and was worth it. There is also a newly opened bar at the end of the garden, again a plus and reasonable value. Yes you need a car to visit the wonderful places fairly close by, on average about an hour away, but there are closer places with further river access, canoeing, etc. If you want a relaxing holiday with an idyllic place to use as a base then this is for you.

Reviewed By pauljZ4211GQA place with great character, wonderfull view of Dordogne. Nice pool, ping pong. The location is excellent. Great sites to visit close by. The kitchen was equipped with dishwasher, oven, microwave and washing machine. Beds where good in size.
