The best available Campgrounds to stay near Florida

April 18, 2023 Renato Branum

Not just for retirees and theme park enthusiasts, the Sunshine State offers beautiful beaches, pristine diving conditions, and sizzling nightlife. Salsa the night away in a smokin’ hot Miami club, or swing away at one of Kissimmee’s many premium golf courses. An airboat tour of the Everglades is an unforgettable adventure – just look out for alligators! For the risk-averse, a lazy day spent on the soft sands of an Emerald Coast beach is as rejuvenating as a spa treatment.

Not prepared for the retirement community JUST YET

Reviewed By sherid981

First time at this RV area, the "lake" we had a site at was on the lake, where my dog was tempted daily to jump in. There are no public showers here, and there is a diner on premis that is good, but not open on SATURDAY nights. their quiet hours were normal, but nothing provided for campfires to normal sites, only on pull through sites,,,, when we camp it's almost ritual to have a fire, no matter the temperature. cabins were not rentable choice because not dog friendly, Was located 10 min from ocean where we went once or twice daily to swim (EARLY OR LATE day), they had 9:00 pm curfew,,the store closed daily at 900pm

Although we didn’t stay at Camp Mack we visit often. On this trip we walked along the boat dock, and stayed and listened to the band. They also have a restaurant that serves homemade pizza and some other meals. We definitely go back to eat there. They seem to always have some entertainment going on. We usually only use the boat ramp.

This was a very surprising experience. My husband and I actually rented a camper for 2 months and stayed at this resort. We thought we might have enjoyed it but we fell in love with everything about it. It’s like being in a small community where all the people are so friendly. So many activities to choose from and a lot Of mature trees that make it so comfortable. We have so many new friends that we will get to spend our winters with now, because we bought a camper and have become 6 and 6rs

Cute spot in town

I stayed in the Alligator room, it looked directly out on the canal and I could watch the fish jumping. It was a short walk to the many shops and restaurants in town. The large covered deck area was a great place for morning coffee or evening wine! The owner was responsive to the one issue I had during my 5 night stay.

Might be my last time

Reviewed By Shamalama65

Even though it was a pretty good trip overall there was some issues with this campground that I have never experienced before! The cable rv did not work! They stoped spraying for mosquitoes at some point they will carry you away! They let people that are not complying with the rules keep parking all over kids playing in the road and leaving bikes lay all over like it is some dumpy trailer park! The Disney employees used to all wave at you only about half so now and this goes for everywhere on property! We love the great Disney employees that make your experience better! I would give them a while until they figure out what the word family means to the American family they are a train wreck right now!

Nice Park

Reviewed By blwilltravel

This is right on Sanibel Island. Large park which is mostly seasonal renters. There is a separate area for overnighters and short term. Nice concrete pads with crushed shell. Large lots and good utilities. Clean bathrooms, not air conditioned. Not a lot of shade with palms and some trees. The only con is that they only take cash or checks…….and if you write a check they insist on partial cash….., in this day and age you would think they could come into the current century, charge a few dollars more to cover the 3% charge. To be fair they do tell you of this archaic policy when you reserve, oh and when you do reserve you must send a check.
