It was nice camp ground once, now trailer homes and bad service, terrible pool

Reviewed By jondoe99999

We have known this camp ground since the 1990ies. It was a simple but beautiful camp ground for tents. Now It seems, it is mainly a place for small trailer homes to rent. The places for tents the camp ground doesn't really seem to care about. Back then, there were solar panels all over the place (progressive!), today there are no visible renewable energy sources installed on the camp ground at all. All nuclear energy. The pool was beautiful with tiles in the 1990ies and there was a nice pool for children. Now the pool only has a PVC-plastic foil (containing harmful plastic softener agents) - and no pool for children at all any more. Also there are many lamps on the camp ground that make it impossible to appreciate the night sky and the stars. It is optimized for pensioners, it seems. Other problems: -Showers cold or way too hot -Pool water extremely dirty (cloudy, algae-green). Pool officially not accessible for campers! Why? (but nobody is checking) -Confusion about booking. Errors and misunderstandings and inflexibility with changes of booking -No help with electricity connection, wrong cable adapter given to us -Overall bad condition of some buildings/facilities, mold at some spots

Absolutely stunning campsite in the woods

Reviewed By ShazBarlow1981

This campsite was perfect for us. We had an enormous pitch for our motorhome - shaded under the trees, just stunning. There was. generous amount of space in-between pitches so you had privacy. The mobile homes/wooden huts looked really cool too. The staff were so approachable, upbeat, friendly and spoke great English. The pool area was beautiful and included stylish shaded areas with loungers and beds. We had amazing coffee and smoothies at the bar, and you can order a charcuterie board for lunch, as well as fresh bread for the next morning. They also had a pizza/food van turn up in the evenings. The sound of the crickets was unreal and made us feel like we were in the wilderness. We would definitely recommend this campsite to all. Enjoy!

This is perfect for families. The kids’ activities were excellent - everything from archery to horse riding and bread making. There are three pools but you can’t bring inflatables. The staff were really helpful and there is a real pan-European vibe at the campsite with everyone we met being really friendly. The toilets and showers are cleaned several times a day. Nearby Fontvielle which is a 10 min walk through the woods is a lovely little village. This is also a great base to explore the wonderful villages of Provence.

OK but could be so much better

A nice site for a short break close to Arles. It’s on a very good bus route with access to the City which is lovely. Camp Pitches are good and the site is well kept. I’m glad I didn’t visit though on a busy time as there are limited toilets and showers as they seem to be renovating the main block but it still seems a long way from being finished. There were other facilities by the pool but they are quite dated. There are currently not enough facilities for a site this size. I would go back though.

Really nice campsite

Reviewed By Benjijackson

This campsite has a lovely, relaxed feel to it. The surroundings are nice too with a relaxed 10min walk into St. Remy (which is delightful - market, restaurants) The campsite toilet blocks were also very good with no problems at all - plenty of hot water, good showers. No seats on the toilets but I didn't find this a problem. Most pitches were taken by caravans and camper vans. Some pitches had trees in them, some were on a slope but most seemed nice. One problem we did had was with the tent pegs. The ground was so hard, our usual pegs were unusable. Take the thick round steel pegs ands metal hammer - you have been warned! Food was available on the site. We tried the pizzas and chips - took them back to the tent. They were really nice and good value. There was a bar and a nice seating area - all good. Thankfully no loud music or 'entertainment'. The peace and tranquility of this site is great - even in August. There was even an ice maker which was a life saver at times in August. The pool was probably the weakest part of the site. A little small for the number of pitches, it became very crowded. The water quality wasn't great. There was only one shower and because of its location- basically in the door way to the pool - not many people used it. Therefore all the suntan cream went in the pool. Not sure if there was a problem with the filtration etc but something needs improving. Overall we loved our 2wks camping here. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good location. Recommended

We had a great 2 week holiday here. From this location the Luberon villages and the cities of the Provence are easily reached. Within the hour you are on the beach of the Med. The pool and little swim lake are good. The waterslide needs reparation and was closed for most of the time unfortunately. Well stocked market on the site with fresh bread daily. Entertainment every night (karaoke, disco, music performances even circus). Only downside is the restaurant. Pizzas ok but eating out was not great because of very loud music in- and outside, errors in the orders, cold hamburgers etc.

My wife and I found this completely by chance when our sat nav had a blip! We took the plunge and went ahead and booked a night. Not wishing to cook we tried the bar and restaurant. Using my best school boy french I ordered drinks and chatted to our host. Turned out that he was a former rugby player,well...... moi auci lol. Bruno was the perfect host, he and the locals chatted to us in broken English and French. They set up a large screen TV so my wife could better see the Ladies England v USA football match. The chef opened the kitchen early for us and made us a wonderful meal (salmon and steak with trimmings) tres Bon. We had a wonderful evening and wished that our itinerary had allowed us to stay at least another night. If you are passing this way, go ahead and stay you won’t be disappointed. Try out your French, the staff and locals will love you for it. Pitches were large, flat and well shaded by mature trees.
