Sweet Hostess with Luggage Challenges
Reviewed By loveexploring123Hostess greeted us with a complaint about our heavy luggage. The windy unsteady spiral staircase is most difficult to navigate. She could have waited for us to help OR not complained. When we were leaving, it was very clear to her and us when our luggage was to be picked up. However, when transfer came to pick up our luggage, there was no answer at the B&B. As a result, when we arrived from biking all day, our luggage was not at the next location. Our luggage arrived eventually but this could have been totally avoided. Too bad because everything else was ok.

Rooms are beautifully furnished, modern conveniences abound, and they serve a local breakfast with sumptious goodies to try. Sorry we only had one night here. Secure storage for bikes if you are trekking through the Loire Valley. A michelin restaurant is right next door.

Reviewed By calvinchung3434This place was such a treat to stay at. The husband and wife there is incredibly nice and accommodating. The breakfast spread was generous with cheeses, fruit, pastries of the day, juices, homemade yogurt, and coffee/tea. Each morning we would be offered eggs and meat she would pick up the day before from the market. After the first morning I asked her if she happen to have sausage, she said she didn’t...but guess what, she got some for the next morning. The backyard has tons of Instagram worth areas to hang out in with bright fun colors. Each time I hung out there she would offer me a drink; which was thoughtful. The owner went out of her way to engage with us and was very patient even though our French was horrible. Though this is a bit out of the way from many main attractions, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this lovely bed and breakfast.

Perfect stopover - the house is absolutely stunning, with the beautiful rooms full of gorgeous unique antique furnishings and immaculately presented, Amelie cooked an incredible meal, and it would just a beautiful environment to rest in and be hosted so warmly. Kids could roam free seeing the animals, and lovely seating areas for an evening drink. Can't wait to stay again!

Reviewed By Jean MWe stayed at the Fleur de Lys for one night and found it to be an ideal location for the town and castle and very good accommodation. The breakfast was particularly good, with home made yoghurt, fresh bakery bread, croissants and pain au chocolat, cheeses and confitures, fruit juices, tea and freshly brewed coffee. There was a focus on quality, bio produce, attractively presented. The house was old but in good condition and tastefully furnished and decorated. The bedrooms had fair trade and eco towels and toiletries.

We are on the edge of the town of Langeais, so the cafes, restaurants, shops and station are within a 5-10 minute walk of the house. The property is gated so parking is safe. The 15thCentury chateau, which has the only working drawbridge in France, is one of the most popular in the Loire Valley and there is a popular Sunday-morning market selling local produce should you be here at the weekend.

Reviewed By rowankeithStayed with friends at this charming property - just on the edge of a delightful French village with a château, picturesque bridge over the Loire, and several great restaurants, wine bars and tasting rooms, a Sunday market - what more could you ask for? Patrick is a kind and welcoming host, and walks down each morning to the local bakery to get fresh pastries for the breakfast which is served with coffee, tea, yogurts, cereals, juice - all included and very fine indeed! Everyone thought the beds were some of the most comfortable on our trip, with ample pillows and fine linens. The bathrooms were sparkling, the flowers around the grounds were lovely and everything was so green, including the kiwi tree under which we sat and drank the local wines. Great value for money! A real treat to visit.

Je recommande vivement la chambre au milieu de la nature où les propriétaires prennent le temps de dialoguer et échanger sur atouts et particularités de la région, de l'environnement. Bonne literie et petit déjeuner copieux.
