Having sea chef high and low for somewhere not too smart for a quick bite on a Sunday (most places closed for annual holidays), this place was perfect. The house special âsconeâ with goatsâ cheese, bacon, honey and walnuts on a salad was superb. Lovely shaded terrace in the middle of the town. A bit touristy, but not overly so. Reasonable value for money.

Ate lunch here after visiting the Chateau. Identified it as a potential venue from previous reviews and, having walked around the rest of Langeais decided from looking at the outside that it could be the best of a 'mediocre' bunch. In the event, the somewhat unpretentious outside, belied what was to come.We chose the Plat du Jour for 12.50 euros - Salad from the buffet, sliced duck in a green pepper sauce with green beans followed by a three cheese 'taster' and then a choice of 3 desserts all accompanied by a demi-litre of the house rose! Add to all this, a very pleasant hostess, prompt service and simple clean surroundings, all made this a memorable experience.

The restaurant is located only two blocks from the local Chateau. They use only vegetables and berries that they grow themselves directly behind the restaurant. They grow their own flowers for decoration, too. Only the meats are not grown by them. THe Chef/Owner is the Chef Boyardee of France!

We ventured here because there was not much open in Langeais on a Sunday night ventured and because of this the restaurant was very busy. The sole waitress was run off her feet but despite this managed a welcoming smile and quite attentive service. The pizzas were not very palatable with thick uncooked dough leaving us to mostly just pick off the topping.

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel host. The restaurant is set out of the village in a very pleasant area.The weather was good as so all the guests had tables outside in the garden. The menu is small but the quality of food that we ate was superb. Quality dining - dont expect chicken and chips here! Service was excellent. Prices are about right for the quality for the food. Well worth a visit - book in advance.

We were very lucky to get a table thanks to a cancellation at the last minute - important to reserve well in advance. The menu is imaginative and well executed, local fish combined with world inspired flavours and professional technique. For our less adventurous children there was a fish burger on the menu: we revelled in the variety and flavour. Also possibly the best chocolate dessert I have ever had. The view from the upper rooms over the Loire is quite stunning. Highly recommended.

This place is next to the chateau. It has a comfortable inside restaurant and some outside tables under cover. Staff very attentive; good range on the menu from galettes to hearty meals; nicely served.Wheel chair accessible for part of the restaurant and for a good loo.Nice for a trip-day lunch or a treat. Will eat there again.

I arrived with a low expectation for lunch because it looks like a cafe, but such a good surprise, really good food, good quality, ingredients, and wide variety :) We were 6 and all of us happy, highly recommended the cocotte eggs in wine sauce ( extra yummy) :)

Read some wonderful reviews of this restaurant, and after walking in on a beautiful Fall day, spent a few hours enjoying the low-key, yet chic space, in the shadow of Chateau Langeais.Luncheon was unhurried, beautifully prepared, with no pretension or airs....Just wonderful quality of ingredients: Fish that was unadulterated, and flavors that were married perfectly.
