The best available Bed and Breakfast Inns to stay near Faro

April 28, 2023 Jasper Kershner

Faro is the best-known city in Portugal’s deservedly famous Algarve region. There’s an archaeological museum and a “Bishops’ Palace,” a Renaissance cathedral that was heavily bombed during World War II, but later rebuilt. Nearby in Estoi are Roman ruins, and Albufeira, also nearby, is a formerly quaint fishing village influenced by the Moors in the 8th century. It’s situated in a cliffside location, and has become famous for its beaches (there are 20) and nightlife.

Favorable rating but not perfect

This is our introduction to the Algarve lifestyle, and Joao is its head cheerleader. Although I never saw him, he is the B&B's social director besides owner. We booked because he included a fado show with dinner. But the fado was canceled at the last moment and the dinner was a fiasco (Restaurante XIC). We stayed in the "Sunshine Room." The room was clean, smallish, that included a great breakfast. No hot items, but the fresh-squeezed OJ and French press coffee were appreciated. There's no English programming on the TV. Diogo was like a "one man gang" who did everything. He took us to and escorted back from XIC Resto, about 20" walk. He was so helpful.

Emergency nights stay

My parents, my partner and I missed our flight from Faro airport so needed somewhere to stay last minute for the night. Close proximity to the airport. The hotel is clean and comfortable - nice looking pool. The reason I bumped it from 3* to 4* is solely because of one of the staff members called Mariana. She was super friendly and incredibly helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. My mum was very stressed about the whole situation as she isn't a good flyer anyway - and Mariana really helped ease her stress.

Comfortable stay, lovely host

Reviewed By LutonLassie

This is a good standard hostel with clean common areas - kitchen, bathrooms and terrace. I highly recommend treating yourself to a balcony room! I arrived too early for check in and my allocated room was not ready. However the lovely host took pity on me and was so kind in changing my room to allow me to check in straight away. My bed was comfortable and I slept really well. Some reviewers have mentioned the roadworks outside. They had almost finished when I left and were not outside the hostel anymore. They didn't bother me at all. I'm not a fan of hostels and would usually stay in a hotel, however this was a really positive experience and I would stay here again.

Quaint, traditional boutique hotel in the heart of Faro in an excellent location.

Reviewed By RobbieM01

A quaint, traditional Portugese building full of character with a bright room, roof terrace and a nice hot shower. It's simple but for a budget boutique hotel you couldn't ask for more. Literally round the corner from the bus and train stations, as well as the main bar/restaurant strip and marina. Great location, and Tatiana is very friendly and great to deal with.
