The state of Arizona is one that features a fantastic diversity of landscapes and areas of geological interest. North Arizona is famous for the Grand Canyon, a colorful chasm with steep rocky walls more than a mile deep and stretching some 277 miles alongside the Colorado River. Other notable destinations in North Arizona include Flagstaff set alongside the San Francisco Peaks which has the largest ponderosa pine forest, Museum of Northern Arizona, and is close to a number of national parks and monuments. On the south side of Arizona lies the city of Phoenix, the largest in Arizona. Notable day trips in Phoenix include the Heard Museum which is one of America's largest collections of Native American art, Phoenix Museum of History, as well as the Desert Botanical garden which has a great collection of desert plants.

No lock on room!

Reviewed By n2022w

Beware - The door to an adjoining room did not have a lock on it! An empty hole where a lock clearly should have been was simply covered by a decorative plate. The plate itself was about to fall off and when we moved it we realized there was no lock and someone from the adjoining room could open their door and simply push our door open! We told maintenance and hours later he returned with a lock, acted as if they didn’t know and no apology was made! The room is in a dire need for an update! The shower is in the bathtub which has a very high lip on it. Someone with balance issues would definitely struggle as we both hit our knees and ankles trying to get in and out. The glass doors that slide back and forth are very heavy and the knobs are about to fall off making them difficult to open and close. There’s no doubt that the surrounding area is stunning; but don’t plan on saying the same about the accommodations!

Excellent train ride.

This train was very clean, comfortable seats, pleasant environment with a knowledgeable/friendly host, live singers. Did look vintage on the outside, but was modern to have enough power to climb higher elevations, air conditioned and roomy.

Wish we had more time

We flew into Phoenix late at night but we knew this is where we wanted to stay from past experiences at Drury Inn. By the time we landed and picked up our rental car we didn't arrive until almost midnight. The night clerk looked like he might have been asleep when we arrived. Other than that, check in was quick. Our room was good size with a small refrigerator and a balcony. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet. The water pressure and temperature was good in the morning. There were many tasty choices for breakfast in the morning and the front desk clerk was very friendly when we checked out. I am sorry we did not get a chance to take part in the 5:30 kick off! I would stay here again.

The staff went above and beyond to accommodate me and allow me to check in early which was most appreciated after a long flight from NY. The amenities in room and the facilities and services throughout were exceptional. Every restaurant had delicious food and impeccable service.
