Uma casa de família é sempre um local especial, tem história, tem uma vivência própria. Na sua estadia vai conhecer alguns pormenores de várias gerações desde o século XVII. Ambiente cuidado e requintado, rodeado de algumas obras de arte. Com mobiliário português antigo nas zonas comuns e alguns quartos. Uma parte do alojamento foi reconvertido com design contemporâneo onde o conforto e bem estar atingem níveis superiores. Todo o alojamento tem ar condicionado silencioso e Wifi gratuito. No exterior, no jardim, pode apreciar uma variedade de plantas e flores. A piscina integrada no jardim é de bordo infinito formando espelho de água em toda a orla. A água salgada e aquecida em conjunto com espreguiçadeiras, mesas e cadeiras garantem um retemperar de energias.

The “cabrito em forno de lenha” was out of this world !! … even some Portuguese Guests with whom we joined the table, commented that they never ate one so good . The next morning, after breakfast, the owners took us to a nearby waterfall called Cabreia, another absolute highlight of our unforgettable weekend . Maria Manuel & Luis, we will come back soon … FOR SURE !

Reviewed By taniac167I came to spend the night at O Cortiço as part of a cycling trip and I was really pleased with the place. The room was quite spacious, clean and tidy with everything we needed. The price was quite fair. We felt really welcomed and the host was really thoughtful helping us finding a place for our bicycles which was safe for the night. He was also really nice and arranged for us to get breakfast ready earlier than the usual time so we can start our journey.

Reviewed By Joao-AtlWe decided to stay a night in Sever do Vouga on our way from the Douro Valley to Aveiro as part of a longer car trip around Portugal. It was a last minute decision that turned out to be a delightful experience. Casa da Aldeia is a stunning home built more than 100 years ago from the remains of a church in the area. It has thick stone walls, large arched doorways, and even a traditional grape pressing with a large tub built with large stones and an old wooden lever with manual crank and massive stone weight. Our room was large and comfortable with a nice view down the multiple terraces of the small farm that is part of the property. And, all of this in right the middle of the small, but active town of about 5000 people. Our host Pedro and his mother were very welcoming. They gave us a tour and history of the property, which the family has owned for several generations. They also invited us to the wine cellar where Pedro served a very nice aged port. Casa da Aleia and the surrounding town of Sever do Vouga are in the mountains just 30 kilometers east of Aveiro. The town is built around the upper end of a deep valley. The town has completed a nice park in the bottom of the in-town valley, and it seem to have plans to continue building out its nature trails. One last nice experience: at host Pedro's recommendation, we made the 15 minute drive up to the top of the mountain above the town (it seems there is a hiking trail as well) to the Miradouro da Capela da Nossa Senhora da Penha. From there you can see all the way to the Atlantic Ocean, including Aveiro. Very nice.

We were very well welcomed by a lovely lady that told us all the information that we needed to know about the place and the area. She welcomed us with a nice bottle of their own wine, what we all thought it was a very nice touch. ? The place it’s situated in a very picturesque and relaxed area in the north of Portugal. There’s a ciclo via that passes right by the place, and goes on for miles and miles. Definitely worth a walk, or a bike ride on a sunny day because the views are breathtaking. The rooms were really spacious, cozy and clean, so we all had a really nice sleep. The only negative I have to say is that I found quite annoying to have to come in the evening downstairs to use the toilet. The floors were cold and we didn’t really have slippers in the room, so by the time i put my socks on, went down and come up to bed I was awake. I would suggest to maybe have some slippers in the room and maybe a old fashion potty, so it makes the experience better. In the morning we had a really nice breakfast and we were very well looked after. There was a lot of food and the lady’s made sure that we had everything we needed. We had our 20months old daughter with us and the ladies were always interacting with her what made it easier for us. i have to mention that the lady actually asked the night before if any of us have any allergies requirements, and because my wife have gluten free intolerance, next day they had gluten free bread. ? After breakfast and because the checkout it’s only at midday we went for a nice walk in the ciclo via and we were all very relaxed and just thinking that we have to come back in the summer.

The commun areas are also welcoming and spacious. A casa é linda, a piscina e o jacuzzi são ótimos!! As vistas são soberbas. De ressalvar o pequeno-almoço, vem numa caixinha de madeira, com tudo, sumo de laranja, leite, iogurte caseiro (delicioso), pão, queijo, fiambre, nesquick e muitas mais coisas. O Staff é muito simpático e atencioso, adorámos a aldeia, o Café O Júnior também é ótimo e os proprietários bastantes simpáticos. Adorámos!!

Reviewed By Sara MO hostel fica no centro de Sever do Vouga, por isso é fácil ir a pé para todo o sítio e oferece instalações super confortáveis e modernas e ainda uma cozinha para os hóspedes poderem preparar as suas refeições. Além disso para quem viaje na época da Feira do Mirtilo, o hostel encontra-se mesmo em frente ao parque onde a Feira é realizada.
