So glad I chose to stay here. These cottages are cleverly and beautifully renovated, but you can still see the structure of history underneath. One bedroom cottage was HUGE and extremely comfortable, with a queen bed and a single, plus a sitting room with reverse cycle and television. Large shower cubicle. Kitchen had everything I needed including fridge and microwave. Toiletries and coffee/tea supplies included. Great location 2 mins from cafes in the main street. Parking at the door. There are BBQs and a laundry outside as well. They have accessible cottages too. And it was very reasonably priced.

Burra is a very small country community and the sleeping over options are limited A few pubs the odd BB and to our knowledge this one Motel As u drive in the first thing is how from the outside the building needs a really good coat of paint and spruce up Check in was contactless which was fine The Motel is as are many many Motels around Australia old and this one does not seem to have had a lot of love recently?? . Our room was certainly big enough and was as clean as u could expect for its age The carpets had really seem much better days and there was a bit of a smell in the room which could have been just old age Would be tough in summer as the room only had an old water cooler installed and believe it or not was on a timer to turn off Sure easy to turn it on again but if u want a cool room in summer to come home to then that is a problem Our suggestion would be arrive very early morning buy the key lock pass at info centre and visit the historic attractions Don’t miss the railway station But if accomodation is not high on your list and u happy just for a bed then this Motel would be just fine . It was old but as clean as possible so not a problem there Who knows maybe the management are about to give the whole place a spruce up and make it the Oasis in Burra ???

We booked for a long weekend 4 months in advance. Cancelled 2 weeks beforehand with no reason given. Didn't return calls. We had to scramble around to find last minute accommodation on a busy weekend. Buyer beware!

We spent a night here en route to the Flinders Ranges. The upstairs area where the rooms are really needs an update. There are random cupboards etc all over the place. Our room was using the shared bathroom facilities. There was one loo for women and the shower didn't work. The room itself was of a decent size but the furniture seems to be from 60s-80s junk shops (and not in a funky/retro way). The bed sagged in the middle - but not too horribly - but, on the plus side, the linen seemed clean. The bedside lamp had no globe. But hey, the room was very cheap! A big compliment we can pay to the pub is that, because we left Adelaide after work that day, we knew we wouldn't arrive til about 9pm when, we assumed, everything in the small town of Burra would be closed. We called ahead to the pub and asked what would be open (nothing) but came up with the plan to order ahead from the pub menu and have it kept warm in preparation for our arrival. The owner-manager kindly sent me photos of their menu and I texted our order through. So it was pretty nice to arrive on schedule and have our meals waiting. They hadn't gone cold or mushy, they were delicious and very generous serving sizes. Gold star for customer service!
