Provence in southeastern France is divided into six departments and stretches from Orange to Nice. Many consider the Luberon in Vaucluse to be the "real Provence." Gently sloping vineyards and lavender fields are the backdrops that enthralled Cezanne, Van Gogh and Chagall. An excellent train network makes travel between cities easy. To explore villages, drive or catch a bus. Particular highlights include Palace of the Popes at Avignon, the Roman amphitheatre at Arles and the craft center of Les Baux.

Welcome to La Lombarde in the south of the Luberon. This estate has been held in the same family for three hundred years. The Luberon has been home to many notable French literary figures. It was called the "blue whale" by Jean Giono because of its scenic rolling hills and remarkable luminosity; it was written of with fondness by Henri Bosco; and it was often visited by Albert Camus. While a guest at La Lomarde, you can immerse yourself in local culture and history; attend an outdoor concert on the terraces of the nearby castle of Lourmarin (birthplace of composer Franz List); discover the markets of Provence in the heart of its ancient villages; or simply linger over a chilled glass of rosé wine in the shade of a local café. Situated at the southern edge of the Luberon, La Lombarde, a Provençal farm from the 17th century, now classified as a national historic landmark property, is a private oasis of a dozen hectares, of which the vegetation is essentially composed of oaks, vine cypress, wheat and scrubland. A park like surrounding of 10,000 square meters welcomes you into the shade of its truffle trees. You will find a pétanque court where you can play boules, a French version of bocce ball. As one of the original Provencal gîtes (a French rural property similar to a bed and breakfast/ small inn but no exact translation exists). our guests have showed their approval with their fidelity, attachment and satisfaction for the last twenty-three years.
We stayed here only for one night, wishing we could stay longer. The hotel is small in a quiet location, so you have your privacy and can relax. The building and outbuildings have a real character. Room and bathroom very nicely decorated, clean and made you feel very cosy. We used the pool, so refreshing on a hot day. Breakfast was excellent. We went to town for dinner, that was another nice surprise as we didn't know the area and is worth exploring. We highly recommend this hotel.

Step inside the wildest landscape of the French Riviera and come discover La Reserve des Monts d'Azur at 1 hour from the beaches. An exceptional site where european bisons, dears, przewalski horses, wild boars and hawks live among each other. Alone or with your family, live an incredible adventure during a > and a Immersion trip next to Patrice Longour and his animal guide team. Finally, lunch at the wild side with an amazing view on the animals, free on 700 hectares.
I totally recommend this place! Beautiful sceneries, in the middle of the nature surrounded by animals, such a relaxing place. The little wooden houses are very confortable even though there is no toilettes/showers the beds are great, perfect for a family of 4. The dinner a private BBQ superb as well as the buffet breakfast. Staff is really professional and kind, we can feel they love what they do.

Charming Guesthouse in Saintes Maries de la Mer. You will be seduced by its three rooms with a stylish and clear decoration, its dinner and its location near to the beaches. Our property is situated two kilometers from the village on a peninsula of the lagune Launes. Our three rooms (25, 30, 35m2) are fitted with air-conditioning and equipped with satellite-TV and free Internet access (wi-fi). The bathrooms are equipped with two washbasin and an italian shower, they have a private terrace. Our guesthouse was recently renovated and are fully furnished in lights and clear colours.
This small (4 room) lodge is wonderful. In the Camargue, surrounded by water and wildlife, the welcome is warm and friendly and professional. The decor is minimal and well done. A beautiful pool and a gazebo overlooking the water is where you take breakfast and dinner if you wish (and you definitely should as the cuisine is fab). A great find.

The charm and magic of Provence can be found in the holiday village of La Madrague. The combination of fragrant pine forests, fresh sea air and the southern French way of life give a holiday in the south of France its unique character. There is a lot to discover, whether on foot, by bicycle or by boat. The bustling port city of Marseille is also not too far away.

Le Flourou is a gite, it is like a hotel. It means that you are welcome in a friendly, simple way and we provide you dinner, night and breakfast. You might share a room or be independant in a double room all furnished with bathroom. welcome at le Flourou and let us enjoy your coming home. See you
We have just stayed 6 nights at Gite Flourou.. not only was it charming, relaxed & clean, but also ideal for us. We like to travel with liberty, we also know what we like/prefer to eat & when. Its flexible here, there is the use of a simple kitchen space for guests who might wish to self cater, ( no kettle, but I boiled water in the pan on a very fast halogen hob, plug for a kettle tho..) I could make my own pots of tea. They offer reasonably priced dinners; at 7pm, or left for you. A studio space on ground floor with modern wood effect floor for Mat-Exercising. From the experience of our room, suggest additional plug in clip light for reading if your eyes are weak, I used one. Own pillow if like feathers, but the pillows were 'not too stuffed.' Be sure to let them know if eating out in morning or may assume eating in. CLOSE to SKILIFT, max 10 mins walk with your skiis or a 'Garderie' to leave them at lift area. Wonderful little cinema in the village, the hot water 'baths' walking distance ( book on line for baths, a time slot as capacity is regulated currently... only accept Synthetic swimsuits, large range on sale on site, Its a million times nicer than you might imagine! Stunningly presented, modern, very clean) We would certainly return to Gite Flourou! Quiet here, no dogs barking or road noise for our stay.

This hotel is private own and managed. My room was very small and some noisy, but clean. The “mother” that was there when I arrived do not speak English at all, which caused some problems, but we solved it finally. The son speaks very well English, but he is not there all the time. Breakfast is some limited, but at a very high quality. The bead was uuummmmmmmmy. Just fantastic. There are a few nice dinner restaurants in the village nearby within walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I would like to come back.

This is a great place for young families on a budget: five minutes’ walk from the charming village of La Roquebrussanne, whose streets are almost too narrow for a donkey to pass through, let alone a car, and in relatively easy reach of the coast. The property has wonderful views of the Var and a great swimming pool. But it’s very DIY, no frills, while ticking all the boxes of location, location…

The 3 nights we had in the guesthouse were thoroughly enjoyable. Vanessa and her husband were extremely warm and welcoming, with great suggestions for places to eat and visit. A hamper arrived outside our door each morning with fresh bread, brioche, jams and flasks of hot coffee & tea. The setting is idillic and there is a wonderful fruit and veg shop just up the road. Castellane is around a 25 minute drive away but the scenery on the journey is beautiful.

When we arrived nobody tells us that we have to reserve for dinner. So we had almost no dinner that evening. Restaurant is not open for lunch for guest as written on the website. We had a very small room nothing to compare with the photos on the website . Only a simpel bed with a smal pilow. 1 chair on the room and a very small balcony. When we got the second day dinner the owner was going to bring somebody to town and nobody was there to serve us. The owner tells everything about his expensive lodges ( 3 x )in Bali but if he handle is guest like us ...... Also in our room you hear the motor of the airco unit and the . Breakfast is very expensive for what you get. ( 3 type of jam, juice and coffee 2 bread )
