Old Town (Vieille Ville)

This historic part of Nice feels like a medieval village with narrow streets curving between old buildings with red-tile roofs, small restaurants and open-markets.

A lovely part of Nice to wander around by day or night . In the day it is a quaint bustling area of little shops and stalls and cafes. Very narrow streets that you could wander around for hours getting lost and seeing something different everytime . By night it lights up and all the cafes and bars are open and has a lovely atmosphere. A must do if your in Nice

Promenade des Anglais

This famous street travels along Nice's Mediterranean waterfront.

We stayed at the Hotel West End few minutes walk from the front beach. It is actually in the Promenade des Angles. The road is busy specially in the rush hour. However the Promenade it's walkable and safe and when it's sunny, definitely you can spend hours.

We truly enjoyed this experience. Hearing about truffles and the industry was fascinating. It made us realise we knew little about truffles, even though we are enthusiastic consumers. We are now more discerning and critical when been served truffle-based dishes in restaurants. If you find yourself in the South of France, you should make time to visit Les Pastras

Massif de l'Esterel

Reviewed By jg3arrow - Surf City USA

I’ve been trying to get my navigation system to route me along this amazing road between Frejus/Saint-Raphael and Cannes for some time, but it keeps routing me through some comparatively ugly inland mountain road. That way is much shorter and easier, but the road around Cap l’Esterel is worth ignoring the nav & setting out on your own voyage of discovery. Finding the start at either end can be challenging because it goes through heavy tourist and pedestrian areas. But once you are on it, you can’t mess it up. This winding road goes through areas of gorgeous villas, breathtaking vistas of the sea, and the most unique and dramatic red rock formations. At the very tip, there are viewing areas, with free parking, to savor the views. You can see hundreds of miles of coastline in either direction. (WWII coastal watchers were stationed here; the rock and cement pillboxes are still here). Allow a couple of hours to enjoy it. There is also a coastal train ride that traverses the area. Just glorious scenery and among the best sightseeing journeys on the Mediterranean coast!

Gorges du Verdon

Europe's only grand canyon.

Reviewed By Minackman - Cornwall

We have been meaning to visit the Gorges du Verdon for years and at last we made it on a sunny day that set off the soft autumn colours. For us the experience was superb, but it is easy to imagine these tortuous, narrow roads full of impatient tourists in high summer.
We went along the left bank from the Baclons de Mescla, past the Pont de l'Artuby, through the Corniche Sublime and the charming village of Aiguines down to the blue, blue Lac de Sainte Croix. From there we climbed back up to Moustiers-Ste-Marie and returned on the right bank by a rather wider road.
We stopped in many places and took lots of photos which really cannot do justice to this stunning natural wonder. Do it out of season, if you can, but do it!

Tapiezo

Tapiezo offers abstract constructions based on universal symbols with sans and pigment of Roussillon in Provence. Recognized by the ACADEMIE des ARTS SCIENCES et LETTRES de PARIS. From an algebra known to all and the mysterious hieroglyphs and doors, structured buildings, an original interpretation. A poetic imagination. A work beyond time. A soothing work of art."Tapiezo, a master of happy wisdom. Tapiezo is the new Picasso." It's in these terms that Jean Lacouture speaks of the artist. Tapiezo's recognition is unanimous. He's in the courtyard of the great painters. To discover in the gallery of the contemporary artist Tapiezo - Roussillon in Provence - Luberon Vaucluse - Values Drouot - Akoun - Artprice A french writter, Jacques Salome says : "Enter into an extraordinary poetic universe that fills you with joy and fullness." First of all, he is happy and he loves children. His art is unique and beautiful. I love that he takes the substrate (literally) around him and blends on canvas to make something amazing.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit - well worth the 45 min drive out of our way to see the town and meet the artist. Highly, highly recommend.
