The 10 best hotels in Mississippi, United States

June 22, 2022 Jasper Kershner

From 24-hour casinos, upscale shopping and luxurious spas in Tunica to the Civil War sites in Vicksburg to the lush golf courses, beaches and upscale casinos in Biloxi and Gulfport, Mississippi offers visitors a wide range of vacation experiences. Vacationers to Mississippi can choose from a diverse group of destinations and activities. On the Gulf Coast in Biloxi and Gulfport, casino gaming, big name entertainment shows, deep-sea fishing and golf, are popular pastimes. In Vicksburg, the Vicksburg National Cemetery and Civil War sites draw many visitors. In historic Natchez, you can take a scenic drive on the Natchez Trace Parkway or visit Frogmore Plantation, one of eight plantations originally owned by a wealthy Natchez planter. For an urban experience, Jackson, dubbed the “City with Soul” has over 50 nightclubs featuring Soul, Jazz, Blues, Rock and other musical genres. Tunica offers great casinos, golf and big name entertainers such as Bonnie Rait, Smokey Robinson and George Jones. Golfers, rejoice! Mississippi has more than 150 golf courses. Among the high-profile courses on everybody’s must play list are The Links at Cottonwoods and Tunica National Golf Tennis Club in Tunica and Grand Bear Golf Club in Saucier and The Bridges Golf Club at Hollywood Casino. Families visiting Mississippi fall in love with the heaping portions of Southern hospitality. Family-oriented activities are plentiful in Mississippi whether it’s enjoying the beaches on the Gulf Coast, visiting the home of Elvis Presley in Tupelo or riding a huge paddlewheeler on the Mississippi River.

Great bargain, clean large rooms, no smoking casio

The good stuff: Great prices and zero resort fees, clean large rooms, some have wonderful water views. Gambling is fun and you win more than lose. Great restaurants with excellent prices and friendly staff. Check-in and out is very easy. Totally smoke free facility. Not so good: Zero help with luggage, curbside staff hide when they see people in front drive (why?), rooms cleaned only once a week, parking garage not close to hotel. A great casino for those traveling to Biloxi. This one if off the main strip, so parking is easier and there are less crowds. If only the staff would have offered to help with luggage, the visit would have been perfect. I found them hiding inside and chatting. Not a good first impression, especially since the luggage carts were no where to be found.

Nice hotel but could use a few improvements to service.

Rooms were very clean and well situated. There is a fridge in the room but no microwave. Bathroom is clean and plenty of hot water. Complaint is the $12 breakfast consisted of runny eggs, sausage patties that were like the ones from mcdonalds, grits, and a dry biscuit (no gravy) on a buffet style line where they served you. Not many choices for $12. No decaf coffee. No toast, no yogurt or cereal, etc. They seem to still be super afraid of COVID like they didn't get the memo that the pandemic is over. When we checked in they said that due to COVID they wouldnt be cleaning rooms daily unless we called the front desk, so we had to take our own trash out and never got new trash bags, ask for clean towels, and our floor was never vaccuumed on a 4 night stay. The pool was unusable...very dirty and gross, like it hadn't been cleaned in a month. I would have rated this a 5 star if it hadn't been for the lack of service and the pool.

Filthy, in the need of PAINT and cleaning supplies

Reviewed By brettm955

My daughter and I went to this hotel last summer because we wanted to get away and it seemed like it would be a great place for kids. First thing is first, she loved the arcade and pool, loved it. However, she was 6 and didn't notice the complete filth of this hotel. I chalked it up to COVID or what-have-you, but after reading the reviews from 2022, I will be taking my vacation elsewhere this summer. I was hoping reviews had changed and was willing to give it another try, but for the cost, its juts too damn dirty and gross. Being your own room waters and snacks, because once the coffee shop closes, you are on your own....no sundries store at a $200+/night place.....Now, i know ill get a generic response form the property management group, but just clean your hotel. Like seriously, just clean it.
