The motel is located on 5 acres of parkland set well back from the road & is a quiet place to unwind, sit amongst the trees, enjoy the wildlife or watch your children kick a ball in safety. Our rooms are very clean & spacious with parking at the door. Ample for trucks, trailers etc. We are a pet friendly motel . Located 1/2 way between Syd & Brisbane. The Slim Dusty center is 200 meters away with beaches & other interesting places close by. We provide room service for dinner & breakfast with the exception of Sunday evenings. Our motel offers free WIFI & pool for use in the warmer months. Your hosts, Jason and Nicole, are welcoming hosts & take pride in caring for the needs of their guests. BOOK DIRECT & SAVE!!

Reviewed By Mausy_HerbFrom the phone call with Janelle when booking this accommodation (explaining exactly where the motel is located) I just knew it would be a great place to stay overnight and an excellent rate. Arrived around 5.30pm and checked into our room and were very happy and surprised that the aircon was on and our room was lovely and warm- just a little detail means a lot. Decided to have the takeaway Chinese and went to office there and the ladies helped us out with crockery and cutlery and a couple of wine glasses and we decided to have a drink with our dinner. Very clean and definitely recommend a stay here anytime - we will be back again Thanks again for your hospitality and warm and friendly staff. Regards H&M

The Motel Kempsey is all about quality and affordability. Located just 1km South of the city centre the Motel Kempsey is your home away from home. 19 Ground floor units with parking at the door. Saltwater pool with separate toddlers pool, BBQ and guest laundry. Table, chairs and ashtrays outside each unit .Enjoy a BBQ while you watch your kids swim in the pool or laze by the poolside enjoying a good book.

Reviewed By ladysanchez10810Fantastic motel stay, very clean and well catered for. The Queen room had a bar fridge, microwave and decent TV. Friendly owners who clearly take a lot of pride in their motel. Would highly recommend this especially for the price.

You get what you pay for
Reviewed By grannygoannaCheckin was easy. The room was large with an extra bedroom and was clean. However the place is very dated, smelled a bit musty, and has quite a few permanant residents. Bathroom was clean but very small. It's not anything like the photos on the website, but it was ok for our one night stay, but wouldn't stay here again.

Reviewed By ShelleyW67A quick stopover on the Sydney- Bris drive with son and dog was needed. The room was very clean and freshly painted. The manager Wendy and the other manager lady were helpful and kind. They politely rang when we were late in and waited for us to let us in. They go above and beyond what is required for a simple roadside motel.

After having booked a room over the phone, two hours later, when i called to make the payment, they had already double booked and said there's nothing they can do about it. They then decided to simply hang up.

Fan and light on one switch in bathroom so showering in cold weather is freezing. No separate light available to cut out fan. Good position as it’s distant from road so it’s nice and quiet.

Our decision to make a booking was based on photographs and the NRMA’s description of the property, which we now realise, must have been written decades ago, because the property in its current state bears no resemblance to the grandeur depicted online. The surrounding neighbourhood is slummy, and the appearance from the street such that we did not take our luggage in with us when we arrived as we thought it wise to inspect the property first. We found Netherby House to be dark, dingy, drab, and extremely run-down. The front verandah, far from being an inviting place to sit overlooking the river, was almost completely covered with junk. The bed in the room we were ushered into, was sagging badly in the centre, and covered with an old bedspread that looked decidedly grubby. Needless to add, there was no way that we would stay in such a place ! Our advice to any considering staying there would be to inspect it first.

Providence is one of Kempsey's historical homes which is set amongst history itself. The charm and character has one feeling lost in peace.Flora and Fauna are abundant in the old gardens which are have been lovingly restored to their former glory plus more. This 2 story charming home offers upstairs accomodation with modern ensuites. Set between the rooms is a share sitting/sun room.Peaceful!
Lovely property and great location

Still retaining most of its former glory, the property is in need of a refresh, as both the house and garden feel a little tired. The jacarandas made up for it in the garden, however! Our room was spacious with an adjoining sunroom with views across the river. A very small ensuite but perfectly fine. What's good? Location - views and close to town; plenty of parking; Reg, the manager - friendly and helpful; heritage ambience; garden, reasonable rates. Not so good? No shampoo or conditioner etc; traffic noise from the bridge is pretty constant if the windows are open at night, but there is a fan and air con; no iron in room.
