The 4-stars Splendid Hotel & Spa is situated in the heart of the city of Dax and near the banks of the river Adour. The authentic character of the hotel was sublimated by the bold choices of the architect Andre Granet in an Art Deco style. You will appreciate the vegealized exterior garden, the elegant restaurant, and the modern spa of 1800m². Our SPA will be closed from January 6th 2020 to January 12th 2020 included due to the mandatory yearly maintenance and will reopen on January 13th 2020.
Nothing better in town
Reviewed By rmaganhotVery expensive breakfast (16 euros) comparable to 3 Star hotels. Air conditioning was too much noisy. Well located downtown. No free parking!!!! Absurd!! Very large rooms. It is a SPA hotel, but i didnt have the chance to use.

Old, worn hotel.

Pro: breakfast (but ... is there a possibility to offer ripe fruits?), nice staff, good wifi Contra: rooms are very, very, very worn and old. Additionally cleanliness is not first quality here. My bed was in bad condition. Bedding already patched in some places. Terrible. Worst Ibis Styles I've stayed in in France. In general not "my" hotel chain - it was booked by a client.

Reviewed By tailung13Good location in the center of the city. Nice staff, good food, nice bedroom, quiet place, great pool and spa, dog friendly. Free parking. Free wifi. I highly recommend this place. We went down for breakfast at 9:40am when the latest time was written to be 9:30 : the staff took us in and accepted us for our breakfast, rare.

Reviewed By Dominic OI liked it, double room with air con but didn't need to use it, arrived at 9.30 pm guy on reception was good and spoke good English and I think his name was Sylvan, at rear of hotel is river front and there are a few bars/restaurants that are open till 11pm though best to arrive no later than 10pm, the one I went to and got looked after was L'En K'Des Berges, downside of hotel is that they don't offer parking, there are very limited spaces directly outside hotel which you pay for during the day and evening up to 8 or 10pm I think, there's free limited parking 100mtrs to right of hotel outside casino, I got the last space there, if hadn't I don't know where I'd have gone

The hotel is located in a quiet street in the center city of Dax.Near the pedestrian streets, shopping and spa bath.All our room are equipped with shower,WC and TV.The WIFI is free.You can take your breakfast in the hotel and there are lot's of restaurants near the hotel.All our rooms have a balcony.
Clean, Friendly, Well-located little hotel

I found it spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed and with everything in the (rather small) room working as it should. The breakfast is a small additional cost, but not bad value for money, with a couple of additional items not normally available in the usual "continental" breakfast in France. Friendly and accommodating staff. The location is just on the edge of the Dax city centre, within easy walking distance. A great restaurant - Le Petit Bouchon - is a short stroll from the hotel. Parking in the street is an option, otherwise there's paid parking nearby too. (I didn't try either, since I was travelling by bike).

Booking confirmed in writing is worth nothing
Reviewed By LottbekkoppelnI had booked a room on the hotels own website and received a confirmation. All fine I thought, not knowing how chaotic this hotel was. When I arrived I was told that the booking had been cancelled. No apology, no offer for an alternative accommodation, not even the offer to help. Only after I stubbornly insisted to get a room, the lady at the checkin counter agreed to find an alternative. Which she did, in another hotel a bit outside the center, but she expected me to pay 30% extra, as the alternative room was more expensive. Stubbornness paid off again, I got the alternative room for the original price. The claim, hotel staff speaks English, French, Spanish, is a wish, in the best of cases. French they speak, Google the other languages. One extra remark: In reality the hotel look nowhere near as nice as on the photographs

friendly, spacious, not all quiet
Reviewed By LottbekkoppelnI was moved here, because my hotel (Les Thermes) was overbooked, so I did not expect too much - but was positively surprised. The very friendly lady at the checkin arranged a decent apartment for me, not too big, not too small. Everything was spotless. The building has seen better times and is a bit noisy, due to the concrete architecture, but the place itself is in a quiet location outside the center. You can park the car on the road for free.
