Comfortable,clean modern hotel
Reviewed By Simon AThis is a very comfortable, clean, modern hotel, just a stones throw from the Paseo and beach. We stayed for just one night in a front facing room with balcony and sea view. The bedroom was spacious with seating, bath robes and slippers. Great breakfast of fruit and tostadas and lovely attentive service. There are many tapas bars and restaurants to choose from on the Paseo but we would suggest Los Baruicos and their gourmet tapas (15min walk to the other end of the Paseo). Be mindful that nothing opens for food until at least 20.00. We will certainly return to El Trébol.

Abbiamo cenato in hotel e abbiamo mangiato molto bene. Nel check-out sono stati molto flessibili e ci siamo potuti godere il sole e la piscina in tutta tranquillità! La colazione in terrazza vista mare è piacevolissima; buona con una buona varietà di dolci . Speriamo di tornare presto

Reviewed By Colin DLovely little beachfront hotel. Family who ran it were so friendly and engaging. Spotlessly clean. Balcony with view straight onto the beach. Delicious breakfast. Excellent value. We used Carboneras as a mid-way stopping point whilst driving south. Fell in love with this sleepy little seaside town and in combination with a fabulous meal at the nearby Michelin guide restaurant, El Cabo (see separate review) and this fabulous little hotel, we wished we had stayed longer. Plan to return.

Reviewed By IHarriStayed 2 nights for a diving weekend. 20 Euros each for a double room, huge, clean, super central, just ask for one of the many rooms at the back instead of the lively Spanish plaza! Heartily recommend this place.

Reviewed By LKingtonI booked with Travel Republic to stay here in September 2014, delaying my arrival until 4pm (for free check-in between the hours of 4pm and 9pm). After some difficulty locating the unsigned apartment block in this otherwise entirely residential area, I found there was no reception, no intercom and the doors were locked. I tried continually to make contact with the apartment manager on the telephone number provided for those arriving outside these hours but got no response. I found myself abandoned in a small, remote Spanish town where no-one spoke English, wandering up and down the street, anticipating the arrival of the apartment manager at any point but, alas, to no avail. Some two hours later at 6pm in the evening and beginning to feel a sense of panic, I had to wander around this town, looking for alternative accommodation and was lucky to find a room in a hostal (although at twice the price of the apartment I had booked). I would strongly advise anyone considering these apartments not to book them. I was fortunate in that I do speak Spanish and had a hire car but would dread to think what might have happened, had I not. Unfortunately, I also experienced problems in having this situation resolved by Travel Republic who refunded only 50% of my money. If you are considering staying at budget accommodation in this town, I would recommend the Hostal Felipe instead or, a more expensive option - Hotel El Dorado.

Reviewed By 528estefaniarLos apartamentos están en primera línea de playa en un sitio muy tranquilo. Para ir al centro del pueblo hay que caminar unos 15 minutos que no se hacen pesados. Estaba limpio, el aire acondicionado funcionaba muy bien, tiene congelador y lo más necesario en una cocina. Se puede aparcar fácil por la zona. Además nos dejaron entrar a las 12:30 cuando la hora de entrada ponía que era a las 16:00.

Nice and charming hotel, located in front of the mediterranean see (20 meters from the water). In Carboneras Town, Almería. With interesting decorations of film sets like Dr. Zhivago. Only 45 mins. to Almeria Airport or 3 hours to Alicante´s. Very nice weather no more than 14 day raining/year.

Reviewed By Kingpaul100HOTEL El Dorado means ' the golden hotel' and you can see why as soon as you step inside at the reception- ornate white pillars are trimmed with gold and the front doors are worthy of any Sutans palace ! Delightful owner who is extremely friendly and sure to make your stay special. Our room directly overlooked the beach and the morning sun rise was stunning. Room was spacious and had a day bed in addition to a king sized bed . Terrace to front of room with table and chairs and 2 sun loungers directly overlooking beach - what more could you want ? Lovely terrace around pool with loungers/tables and chairs in the sun and shade. Comfortable lounge area in hotel that even has a grand piano ! It is a hotel of yesteryear for sure- stylish and elegant. Yes it is old and a little faded around the edges but that only adds to its appeal. A veey relaxing and comfortable stay. Walking distance into Carboneras town centre either on the pedestrianised promenade or on pavements/ roads. Hotel is surprisingly listed only as 2 star property.

Very friendly owners who speak english and german and who are always willing to help and give advice. The room and bathroom were very clean and we had a beautiful view over beach and sea. Beds are good, wifi in the room was somethimes a bit weak but in the rest of the building very ok. A place to return to!

Rooms are not so spacious as it's budget hostal. Rooms and bathroom were clean. Balcony is added plus point. Satisfied
