On the beach, friendly service and very consistent food quality. Fish and steaks were good. Rice dishes must be ordered before hand - sic! Good spanish wines at very decent prices.

While visiting family for a week in the Carboneras area we spent not one but two three-hour long pleasant evenings dining on superb appetizers and main courses, drinking terrific and very reasonably priced local wines, and enjoying conversation and good company. Natalia (spelling?) was our excellent waitress, attentive, spacing deliver of all the courses, but not hovering at all. We returned the second evening because we all agreed that we needed to go through as much of the menu as possible. Which is to say that, although I cannot remember specifics of what we ate (but it included lots of tuna and other seafood, some meats, and terrific vegetables) everything was outstanding and beautifully presented.

Reasonably priced Spanish food. Restaurant serves a selection of basic tapas dishes, and usual starters, main courses. We ate the tapas dishes washed down with some local wine, which was reasonably priced and good quality. I enjoyed the grilled sardines, cooked chorizo, morcilla and octopus with mixed salad. Only downside was that most of the dishes were garnished with fries. The English version of the menu is small, so best opt for the Spanish menu and work out the dishes you don't know with a phrase book or app. The restaurant is quiet earlier in the evening. Locals tend to eat later than we are used to.

Cafeteria Sagoni

Went a first time, wanted fresh fish, completely trusted the owner (Marcos) and we had a good 'gallineta' nicely prepared a la plancha. When we asked for the bill, he just told us a number. It seemed reasonable if not cheap, we paid and we went out happy.
We went a second time. Unrequested tapas started appearing on our table. We asked for fresh fish and a giant grilled squid was served. No preparation or cleaning of any sort had taken place, it has just been thrown on the plancha as it was, eyes, skin, 'beak', innards and all (what a contrast with the nice stuffed squid of the previous evening at the nearby Cafeteria del Cabo). Some (not many) might like it that way, but it was not cooked well and it was hard. As it weighed a kilo (so we were told...no scales in sight of course) it was too much and by the end it was cold rubber. When we asked for the bill it became clear that dear Marcos intended to use us as cash cows. Not a very smart business practice as we'll never go back.

I just came back from a holiday in Carboneras and I had to write about this restaurant because it was a standout. I went with a group with 14 people and had dinner in the Terrace. The ambience was great, but the food, oh my, the food was just fantastic. I had a beef entrecôte and it was one of the best I've had in a while, the meat was exceptional quality and it was cooked just to the right point. I also tried some of the dishes of other people in the table and they were equally great. The other reviewer has complained about the service, but in our case I have to say they were very attentive and can really find no fault. I can't recall what the bill worked out to, since there were so many of us and it was paid from a kitty, but the general impression was that it was perfectly reasonable given how pleasant the experience was. I will most certainly keep this restaurant in mind next time I'm in Carboneras.

After so many days of tapas, we wanted to try a normal restaurant. In winter the options around Carboneras are very limited, so we ended up at La Quesería.
Location is not very good, as it's not in the main restaurant area. But the restaurant is very good, all the food was very good and the price was correct. Good for a change!

This modern restaurant is a few hundred metres on the main road south from the centre of town, overlooking the town beach and fishing port, so perhaps it does not get so much passing trade, but it is well worth a visit. It is a pizzeria plus other things restaurant. It does pizze very well, very Italian. I had the baked aubergine parmigiana which was unexpectedly tasty - best ever. We had a nice Rioja on the recommendation of the very helpful waitress. Prices are very typical for the town and not at all expensive. I'm looking forward to going there again, and recommend the same to everyone.

Set back from the sea front in a small plaza, this restaurant opens at different hours during the week. Closed Mondays and mix of lunch and evenings on other days. So best to check they are open rather than just turning up !!!!
Lovely Terrace in addition to inside dining. The fish is superb. Probably the best fish restaurant in Carboneras. Fish very fresh and good choice available. It is not gourmet food but excellent quality , presented simply.

As a French-Spaniard living in the US for a while, I can tell that Di Martino's ice creams are the best I ever tasted! You can feel the dedication of Martin, the owner, a young and talented chef who is always experimenting to introduce new flavors and combinations. He has created and perfected more than 60 flavors which are all amazing: Kinder Bueno, Cheesecake, Speculoos as other fruity options. His secret: fresh ingredients, passion and mastery! He also is a really good pastry chef too, his cakes are amazing and he will always try to suit your needs. Thank you Martin, you know I'll be back soon... almost everyday if I can!
