Average hotel with many weak points in the room
Reviewed By Traveller VThe hotel Ibis Auray, where I stayed for three nights, has small rooms, average modern equipped. The bed is not cosy as the mattress slides during sleeping and therefore you cannot sleep very well. Also it smells a bit sulky in the room when entering it first time. The window is too small why much daylight cannot get into the room. The bathroom is too small, especially the space in front of the toilette. The breakfast was good, the personnel okay, parking space enough availabe. But I would not return at this price to this hotel. I paid around 75,00 EUR including breakfast per night at the average. That's too expensive for this hotel!

Reviewed By G7451E0johngSituated in a nice calm spot with a 15 minute walk into town. Plenty of parking. Friendly welcome and service. Nice clean room with all that we needed. Very comfortable bed. Good breakfast.and good coffee. I would use again if visiting Auray.

Welcome to our Kyriad Auray , our 43 comfortable bedrooms hotel has 16 bathrooms with whirlpools and the others with massaging showers. We are in a quiet area, between a swimming and spa center , and a cinema center. Our restaurant LA NOUVELLE VAGUE offerts typical french dishes, home made from our locals producers's products. Auray is a nice little city, the city center and especially tiny harbour "St Goustan" are worth to have a lot at ; The town is between Lorient and Vannes, and near beaches Carnac,La Trinite Sur Mer,Quiberon, and many islands.
Outstanding staff and food
Reviewed By Chris LThe hotel is located near to a cinema and some restaurants in a small retail area. The rooms are spacious and clean, the lobby is bright and welcoming and the restaurant and bar have a small terrace for dining and drinking outside. Bar prices are reasonable and there is a good selection of drinks including local ciders. Just a few minutes away there are some delightful country walks through shaded lanes reminiscent of Cornwall. The two outstanding attributes of the hotel are the staff and the food, the staff in this establishment were exceptionally welcoming, friendly and helpful with a positive attitude, full credit to them! The food was also excellent, unlike the bland international fare in most hotels the offerings were varied and tasty, meats and fish dishes accompanied with lovely sauces. I was on a business trip but I would definitely bring my family here in future

Excellent value and friendly service
Reviewed By CorkyAspleyGuiseWe booked this room for a short stay in the Morbihan region of Brittany because of the very good reviews and we were not disappointed. This is a two star hotel but star ratings aren’t everything. We stayed in the superior room number 19 (with a view onto the lovely garden) which was clean and comfortable with a good bathroom. You may not be able to see a room previously occupied by Agatha Christie but the room was spacious and comfortable (better in fact than a recent four star we’ve stayed in in Hong Kong). The breakfast buffet was excellent for the price with wonderful croissants and apricot jam amongst the highlights. Monsiuer and Madame les proprietaires and the staff we met were extraordinarily kind and put up with our profile fumbling French with a cheery smile: nothing was too much trouble and their warmth and charm complemented the quiet efficiency of the hotel. This was important too us as this was a tenth anniversary trip. The location of the hotel is extremely good. Though near a roundabout and the road out of Auray, the road itself is not busy and the walk to the lovely Port St Goustan and to Auray itself is a leisurely 15 minutes’ walk. It was a little hard to find on arrival because of the vagaries of the Garmin Satnav which was incapable of finding the road but, once found the hotel is well situated. I heartily recommend this hotel

Reviewed By jmtwsmThis is a lovely little hotel owned by Corinne & Eddy, who are the best hosts in the business. We stayed for 3 nights, but a week would have been better. The rooms are bright, cheerful and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was a selection of tasty breads, croissants, jams, cream cheese, yoghurt, cereals and boiled eggs, plus really good coffee. This is my joint favourite hotel in France. There are plenty of restaurants within 3 minutes walk and quayside parking is only 50m away.

Excellent location for public transport
Reviewed By Marieke FIf you are dependant on public transport to discover the region, then this hotel is ideally placed. It is right next to the train and bus station, very practical as many trains and buses leave quite early in the morning. In many cities this would be a seedy part of town, but in Auray the area around the station is safe and quiet. There is also not much noise from traffic to bother you in the hotel. The hotel itself is very pleasant, really much better than I expected from a 2 star hotel. The room is simple but immaculate. The bathroom is small but the fittings are modern and in good working order. Nothing is rundown. I really can't think of anything negative. The owner is super friendly and helpful. She really makes you feel at home. The breakfast is fine for 6 euro. I stayed here for 4 nights and had no complaints. Maybe that it is a 20 minute walk to the city centre, and the local bus does not run after 8pm so you have to walk back to the hotel after dinner. But I did not find that problematic.

Accommodating and relaxed hotel in Auray
Reviewed By WilmaSchweizWe wanted to stop over in Auray and were happy to find accommodation in this friendly hotel. The terrace was great and we enjoyed eating oysters there and also tried some of the bottled aubergines. It is nice that the locals also gather there and the market was right in front of the hotel!
