Hampton usually always delivers & this time was no exception! Convenient location, eateries within walking distance, friendly staffing & attentive breakfast hostess! Love the gazebo as a place to simply breathe! The beds are always wonderful & this location appeared in very nice repair! Next time I will ask for the top floor so I don’t have to hear the people above me!

Diggin' the Tru Brand !!

Reviewed By Peter_A_Morrell

Diggin' The Tru Brand I stopped in at this newer Tru by Hilton while in the Auburn area for business. I've stayed at one Tru previously at the Denver Airport and was TRU-LY impressed. Built for the millennial and the business traveller and with its budget-friendly pricing, I'm digging' the Tru brand. Tru to its name, the brand is made for the modern traveller. With its bright, modern decor, and its welcoming workspaces, Tru delivers. Check-in was quick and painless, although my digital key wasn't working I still didn't;t mind 'checking in' at the front desk. When I went to the elevator, I noticed a community board on the wall adorned with locally inspired things to do. This was a nice touch. My room was bright with minimalist modern decor, it's not as big as a Hampton or Home 2 or Homewood suites but just the way the rooms are laid out, they don't feel small. Everything you need for one night or multiple nights awaits you. There is plenty of space for your gear and devices, as well as multiple wall hooks for your coats and jackets. The desk is a little on the small side so be warned. You will find USB ports and outlets tuned into every nook and cranny. If you're in your room to work or play, the wifi signal is fairly strong, as I had two phones, an iPad Air and Dell Notebook all charging and connected at once. The bed is comfy, and the washrooms are spic and span clean, so you can just chill out and enjoy the space. If you get tired of your room the downstairs lobby area has many places to chill, a games room, Big screen TVs, and work pods, so it's a great place to sip a local craft beer and catch up online. The fitness center has enough tools to get in a good workout. The free Lavazza coffee is fresh, free and flows all day long. Tru is TRU-LY a great little hotel chain, and if you get a chance to check one out, you will agree it's a great, modern, and affordable chain that anyone can enjoy.

I Would Try To Go Elsewhere First, For Now

Reviewed By Channon W

My family had several events over the weekend in Fort Wayne, Indiana and we found out at the last minute that we needed a hotel room. We normally choose to stay at Marriott or Hilton properties. We like their reward programs and we are usually very satisfied. In this case all of the rooms in the Fort Wayne, Indiana area were booked and we had to choose between this location and one other location. The first eight TripAdvisor reviews for the other location stated things such as “Don’t Stay Here” or “Welcome to the Crackhouse” or “I Wouldn’t Let a Homeless Person Stay Here.” Obviously we looked at this location, the Country Inn and Suites in Auburn, Indiana, and saw the slightly better reviews and really had no option. The first night was average. Noisy walls, old, outdated, rusty bathroom but the bedroom was fine. The next morning, I worked out in the fitness room and right after found out that the water did not work in the hotel. Yes, you read correctly. The showers stopped working and they couldn’t find the maintenance man or get in touch with the manager. Furious does not begin to describe my response. I had 30 minutes to get showered and get to our event. I begged them to find me another room with a working shower. They couldn’t. I demanded a full refund. They couldn’t do it because the manager wouldn’t be in until Tuesday. It’s Sunday!!! I read someone’s comments stating that Jessica was friendly. Jessica didn’t believe me when I told her the shower had no water. She had to go see for herself even though several guest complained about the same thing and her colleague told her that several guests had the same problem. So she left me at the front desk to walk to my room and verify that I, a 46 year old woman with 4 degrees, was sure the shower had no water. I had to leave in dirty workout clothes, soaked in sweat and too embarrassed to attend our events for the day with the promise that someone would call me on Tuesday. When I called back to ask them not to charge my card, Jessica refused to give me her full name so I could throughly report this to corporate. She also refused to give me the contact information for her manager. Great customer care!!! When we checked in, the desk attendant asked me to give them a good review as they were trying to improve their rating. What kind of welcome is that? You have to earn a review. She told me they were in the middle of renovating and still had a million dollars worth of work to do. Is this the welcome script? I knew then that the hotel was under construction yet they’re still allowing guests. If I could give a -5, I would. I declined to attend all of my scheduled events in the area because I couldn’t shower or do my hair. I had to leave the hotel so my son and husband could still attend. I spent the day in the car, funky and irritated. The next time I have to stay at a Country Inn and Suites, I just won’t.

We stayed here because it was the best available for us since we were travelling with a dog. It turned out to be a wonderful experience. The room was very clean & comfortable. The property was well maintained. There was free coffee available in the morning. & the location is convenient. We couldn't have expected more for an overnight stay. & with the money we saved we had an actual breakfast (not rehydrated microwaved crap) at a restaurant. If we are ever in the area again, we will stay here.
