Great place to stay for a weekend

Reviewed By alisonjeanlane

We stayed at Madison’s over the weekend with our son and his family. We throughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed for the night. There was lots of blankets so we didn’t bother with the wood fire but will give it a go next time we visit. We loved the lake with the ducks and geese and our grandkids loved feeding the alpacas in the morning . We also loved using the BBQ area for breakfast as it had a great heater. Thanks Anne for being a lovely host.

Such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. The cottages have old world charm with lovely touches throughout. Very clean and cute. I watched the sunrise from the front verandah. This accommodation has it all and Nicole was so warm and welcoming. It was the best night sleep I've had in a long time.

Get away

Very enjoyable stay. I wanted a few days to unwind and this was perfect. Quiet, peaceful and situated in a beautiful spot. Mel and Ian were very helpful. Would recommend to anyone looking to get away from the rat race. Close to Gloucester if you want town amenities but far enough away to feel secluded.

Hunter Hideaway Cottages

Good location, reasonably priced but misleading in their advertisements

Reviewed By stephanietT2170UK

We spent a two night stay on the property, it is reasonably priced and the kitchen was well equipped however we definitely felt misled. On the website it showed the hermitage cottage had a fire place which was not borded up and looked very inviting to use, to our suprise we arrived at the hermitage and the fire place is completely borded up and unavailable for use, the cottage at night was freezing and the air conditioner only warmed the kitchen area. The carpeting on the floors in the lounge room and leading up to the bedroom have been so poorely done they look like floor mats, which move when you walk. We were given two pieces of firewood for 2 nights which wasn't sufficient for the firepit. The property doesn't seem very secure and neither were the locks on the door they were loose and you had to fiddle with them to lock them. If you are looking for a budget friendly trip with simple amenities, minimal security and warmth then this is your place to be. The best thing about this place was waking up and drinking coffee on the porch watching the kangaroos near by and being able to cook some home cooked meals.

Family weekend

Reviewed By AWade-123

We booked all the cabins for our family weekend. It was great to have the house and all the cottages but yet have our own individual space. It is the most relaxing setting and being in the middle of the vines was just beautiful. We loved the gallery and the cellar door and Therese was a great host.

We stayed in a one bedroom cottage over the Christmas weekend. The cottage was beautifully decorated with a rustic touch. The location is perfect with just a few minutes to Pokolbin and Cessnock and yet very quiet. The fridge was stocked with all the breakfast essentials. The cabins are spaced apart from each other providing adequate privacy from other guests. We would love to return for another stay and hopefully meet Paul, Rosie and Aussie :)

A few days break away after 2 years of Covid lockout with our dog and we have all had a lovely time. The cottages are clean and neat with plenty of room. The grounds are beautiful with views to the the ocean and a stunning huge fig tree. An enclosed yard for our dog Rudy to sniff and chase magpies. Close to Narooma and Tilba and plenty of walks on the farm. Fresh farm eggs for brekky and plenty of dog friendly places to have lunch in the area. Feeling very relaxed and would definitely recommend and come back.
