The 10 best Bed and Breakfast Inns in Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, Spain

May 17, 2023 Fernanda Pittenger

Featuring limestone cliffs, cave systems (the largest of which—the Hundidero-Gato complex —has prehistoric origins), and deep gorges, it’s no wonder that Sierra de Grazalema is considered to be one of Spain’s most stunning ecological landscapes. Budding botanists can lose themselves in more than 1,300 different species of flora, while birders will delight in the prospect of seeing communities of Bonelli’s eagles and the endangered Egyptian vulture. More into mammals? The UNESCO Biosphere Reserve is also home to genets, mountain goats, and otters

Beautiful Stay

Reviewed By Alina T

We stayed two nights and loved having the pool since the days were warm. Our room was nice and large, though did have some restroom drain odor issues. The overall place was very charming and the service was welcoming and helpful. The host even helped us sort a somewhat complex transportation situation, which we were grateful for. The location was perfect and the views out over the pool to the valley were beautiful! The breakfast was very nice and the terrace was lovely.

Little hotel with personal touch and high quality.

First of all; Benaocaz i stunning. It's a little white village high upon the mountains (easy to reach by car) with stunning view and many possibilities for a walk or hike. El Parral is a little hotel with only a few rooms and has a restaurant. The room was large, nice bed, airco, privat shower and toilet. Is also has a magnificient terrace and a little pool in the garden. Big enough for some cooling down after a hike with a glass of wine or beer. The breakfast was one of the best we had during our trip through Andalucia. Fresh orange juice and very good coffee. They really do their best to make your stay perfect. The restaurant also has high quality but for us their were too many dishes with meat on the menu. Benaocaz is a quiet little village but there are 3 restaurants. Directly from the village you can start a few hikes or you can drive in the direction of Grazalema where there are a lot of possibilities. Our stay was absolutely perfect and we really hope to come back!

The food was excellent and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the horse riding trek and the natural swimming pool was a great experience. Our children also made friends with the two resident dogs! The nearby town of Grazelema offered great lunch options. We will definitely be back!

outstanding location and atmosphere

Reviewed By 645DavidS

obviously the rating is not as much for the hotel room as it is for the environment. the hotel is simple and decent. clean. you get AC, WiFi. in our case the room was actually fairly big. we did not try the breakfast: we should have done considering there is limited option around. what trumps all is the location near the top of zahara in a mostly pedestrian area with plenty restaurants just downstairs and the view from either our room or the plaza. when at Marques, you are out of this world and can enjoy quiet and the tapas.

Local excellence

Excellent, simple local food. Rich in taste from garlic, charcoal, olive oil and salt. Nothing fancy, just splendid. Passionate chef who gladly explained the sauce following their gambones al ajillo (prawns in garlic). The kind waitress let me use her sweater on this chilled evening in May. The restaurant is located in a narrow Alley next tomter main square. Don’t hesitate to look it up.
