Had MULTIPLE issues with our distracted/inattentive/forgetful/undertrained server. The review that was forming during our meal was not a good one. Excellent management staff prevented this from being a "terrible" rating. From our first encounter with the server, we had the feeling that our dining experience was not going to be up to this location's standards. The barely audible, "Would you like drinks and appetizers?" was our first sign.. along with no eye contact whatsoever. We ordered soft drinks, salads, breadsticks and a pizza. Drinks and salads were delivered satisfactorily, albeit without straws, Our breadsticks still had not arrived after 15 minutes. At that time only three other tables were occupied by small dining parties. There were no pick up customers. The restaurant was not busy. During this time the server was noted to be conversing with a patron at the bar area. A few glances in that direction must have sparked some memory. Conversation was exchanged with another server, and in another 5 minutes, our breadsticks were served by yet another server. Back at the bar, our server continued visiting while we continued to wait for our pizza. About ten minutes later, in a trance-like state, the server appeared at our table and asked if we would like dessert. We looked at each other in disbelief and asked if we could please have our pizza first! This was met with the response of rolled eyes and , "didn't they bring it out?" Well, no, THEY didn't ...and we were now really hungry. Server turned and walked away without any other comment. We watched more conversation exchange in the kitchen area and waited. About twenty minutes later we were served a very overcooked pizza that was far from what we had ordered. When asked if everything looked ok, we politely said that the pizza was not as we had ordered. Response was a terse, "what's wrong with it?" Not an apology, no sense of service. We dared not comment on the fact that the crust was as dark brown as the sausage. The server left without offering to fix it. At this point, we decided that this server was done waiting on us. We did eat the pizza, but took our ticket up to the front when we were done. We would not be trusting this person to take our credit card to ring up our ticket. When asked if everything had been satisfactory, we related our experience to the hostess and asked for a take home box. While boxing our pizza, a manager had been alerted to our situation. This review turns positive only because of that manager and his professional attitude. He listened and responded as we would expect a good manager should. As we expected, he was not aware that anything was amiss until we alerted the hostess. He made no excuses for the service, only apologized and comp'd our entire ticket. To the young people who are working in the service industry....the server was only a little younger than the manager, but there was such a world of difference in the two. If you are undertrained or unsure of your duties, please ask a manager or other experienced worker to help. If you have had a bad day, know that your smile and upbeat attitude is why people come to a restaurant instead of running through the drive thru and as in any job, you must learn to check your bad day at the door. Patrons do notice these things and they do base their reviews and tips on them. We would never have expected a comp'd meal, but that combined with the excellent professional delivery by the manager will make us happily return to this location.

We went to Wise Guys in Roanoke on Friday 08/18. Great experience. We sat on the patio and had a very nice evening. Our server, Brooke was outstanding. She was very helpful with the menu and beer options. She was attentive and very friendly. Her manager came by the table and shared a his story which was inspiring. The garlic knots are addictive. We went through 2 baskets. The pizza was very fresh and delicious. They have a variety of local beers. Great place to spend and evening.

I prefer Mr. Jim's Pizza to the other pizza places in town. Their prices are good and they still make the Meatball subs. This is the best pizza in town and they always have great pickup specials.

We like to order from Palio's Pizza because it's so good and so quick. Usually by the time we drive there to pick it up, it's ready. Their wide variety of menu options means no one goes hungry. We like the Frank's Buffalo Chicken and The King. Anyone not up for pizza can choose from sandwiches, salads, pastas, and, or course, desserts. The prices are right and the food is always good and filling. They are easy to find right on Hwy 114 and offer gluten free pizza crusts. Sun-Thur open until 9:00 PM, Fri-Sat open until 10:00 PM.

Inzo Italian Kitchen

My parents invited my husband and I out for pizza and they picked this place because of good reviews. We usually eat at the normal carry-out pizza chains but they wanted something a little better quality. I ordered the Margherita pizza, my husband ordered chicken and onions, my parents ordered pepperoni and sausage. Mine was delicious and looked just as good. My husband said the chicken on his was hard, so he pulled it off. My parents said theirs was really good. The restaurant even has a free photo booth which was fun to do. We’ll be back when we want a higher class pizza for sure.

Italian Bistro

Served in a cozy, Old World themed dining room, Italian Bistro's scrumptious offerings were soooo good. We began with an appetizer of Shrimp and Artichoke Bottoms. Served in a lemony garlic butter and herb sauce, they were a great start to our meal. I chose the Eggplant Parmesan for my entree. It had a crisp bread crumb coating and was not at all soggy like some variations are. The sauce was thick with rich tomato flavor. My only suggestion would be to switch to a "gooier" mozzarella. On our server's recommendation, my husband ordered the Veal Saltimbocca and deemed it excellent. House salads included with the entrees were quite plain - lettuce with grated mozzarella and dressing on the side. Do yourself a favor and save room for a cannoli. Sweet, light cream stuffed into a chocolate lined shell was the best way ever to end a most satisfying meal. A selection of reasonably priced wines is available along with beers and cocktails. Service was friendly and well paced on a busy night. A word of advice would be to take a look at the menu online, as the dim (but cozy) lighting made reading the menu a bit of a challenge. Overall it was a wonderful evening!
