The place is nothing to write home about, but it was easy to get in and easy to get out of....it's located in a corner gas station (Exxon, I believe)

At Irv's you got to the back of the convenience store to order. Their BBQ is priced well when you consider the generally high price of BBQ. The homemade sausage is very good, and the ribs are very good as well. The brisket was dry and could use more smoke flavor. Still, in this area of Texas that's known for it's BBQ, I think Irv's is the best.

Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers could

2920 Roadhouse

After Kelly and Christel Burmaster acquired and studied the history of the property where the 2920 Roadhouse is located today, it was during the cleanup of the property that that a deep desire built within them to restore the beauty of this old house that

Sad to leave 1 Star, because 2920 Roadhouse used to be a favorite of ours. The food and the service has gone way downhill. I will say that the hostess did warn us that they were short handed, and we chose to stay anyway. I ordered a Bloody Mary when we placed our order, and didn’t get it until our food came out, and that’s only because I reminded her. They weren’t very busy at all, as it was Sunday afternoon. My husband ordered steak and eggs, and his “chicken fried steak “ tasted like Dairy Queen steak fingers. Not a bad thing, but not what you’d expect paying $15 for a meal. His scrambled eggs were also over cooked, and hard to swallow. My Roadhouse Benedict was awful. I couldn’t even finish 1 of them. It was dry, because they use fried eggs instead of poached, (even the fried egg was over cooked and rubbery,) the biscuit was hard, the cheese sauce was clumpy, and the “mini hash browns are simply hashbrowns with lots of pepper on them. No taste at all. When I let the manager know because my daughter ordered tacos which came with the clumpy cheese sauce as well, he admitted that it probably sat in the window for too long, and offered me a piece of pie. I came in to eat breakfast, so I didn’t want pie. (When I say clumpy cheese, my daughter was able to hold the bowl the cheese came in upside down and it stayed in the bowl.) Overall, really disappointed, and don’t plan on returning.

Shout-out to the ladies running the front counter at Murdoch’s on a surprisingly busy Thursday night. The crew recommended an awesome Summer Pilsner, handled our TOGO order all while checking-out a couple of big groups around us.We had the crab Po-Boy, charcuterie tray and blackened shrimp - all awesome and prepared well for a take-out order. We loved the decor and outdoor spaces at Murdoch’s - definitely a unique restaurant. Be sure to give them a try!

We shared the bacon wrapped scallops appetizer and it was excellent. The scallops were large and came with a side. We then shared a 12 ounce filet cooked perfectly with Brussels sprouts and lyonnaise potatoes. The Cabernet was excellent and very very affordable. It was a great night out.The desserts looked great but no room to enjoy. One of my favorite places in Cypress. We’ll be back soon

I was with a large group of 20 that stopped in around 12:30 p.m. for lunch. The service was quick, even though a few people in the group had to wait a little while for their food but all went well. The waitresses were friendly. I tried the hedgehog burger (with corned beef on top of the burger) and onion rings; both were delicious!

The Shack is a hidden gem! It started with a VERY small building that now houses the kitchen and cashier counter. The seating is all outside - some covered, some not. There is a great separate place for parties, too, and lots of play area for the kids. Great burgers and beer selection.

Frio Grill

A recent Friday dinner experience was a pleasant surprise. We were seated indoors next to an open window allowing us to enjoy the live entertainment and cool breeze. During happy hour, well drinks are $5 and a selection of beers is $3. Other cocktails are offered at regular price but a bit steep in my opinion and were not worth the $8 price tag.An appetizer of quail bites on a bed of cheesy grits with bourbon gravy was excellent. For entrees we opted for the Caesar salad with a bowel of gumbo or tortilla soup. The soups were fairly standard. However the Caesar salad was a head of romaine lettuce with Parmesan cheese and dressing drizzled on. It was definitely different but difficult to cut and eat.Service was prompt and efficient the night we visited.
