This is a great place to expereince raclette. I was part of a party that was given the opportunity to sample 5 different raclette cheeses - amazing how different they were. They have excellent local wines and their is an attached shop where you can taste and purchase many of the difficult-to-find Valais wines, including Amigne, Petite Arvine and Lafnetscha.

This was the best restaurant experience of our adventure in Switzerland!!! Diego Mathier and family have a wonderful establishment that they take great pride in serving excellent local food and wine. The staff is very attentive, efficient and seemed genuinely happy to be working there. My husband and I are still raving about how wonderful the Swiss are especially the Mathiers'.We would highly recommend a stop at their winery first, Nouveau Salquenen AG. Great Wine, great food, great people!!!

The maître des lieu Patrick is a likeable guy that greets you with a smile when you enter the establishment. The "local" wines are proposed at a 'reasonable' (in Swiss terms) price and the snacks (for sale) are of excellent quality. My friend and I went back almost every evening for the aperitif.Definite recommend.

Must say that the only reason we used the restaurant was we were staying in the hotel and there did not seem to be a lot else close by.Saying that, the food and the service were excellent. Limited choice but all what we tried was well presented and excellent quality. Thank you for your nice feedback !I agree, why go out ;)
