I stayed here while on a walking tour in the area and recommend it highly. Excellent home cooked food at very reasonable prices. The restaurant has accommodation available as well and it too was simple but very good.

we just went fot a few hours to Poschiavo when we tot the Bernina Express train.The food was really nice, especially the Italian specialities. The girl that served us, spoke English, really friendly.The restaurant (part of hotel which we didn't visit) is in the centre of the place, on a little square. Good protection against the sun. On wednesdays there is a small market.

Abbiamo fatto la passeggiata dall'Ospizio del Bernina al ristorante Belvedere, gita molto bella e ci siamo fermati in questo ristorante con una vista mozzafiato. la cucina è ottima, abbiamo preso una buona polenta con le uova al burro tutto cotto perfetto, belli tutti i piatti che vedevamo,Personale molto gentile e cordiale . A pochi metri c'è poi la fermata del trenino che ci riporta in cima

The Giardino restaurant of Le Prese (part of the Romantica hotel), has been one of our favourites for years. We usually stay in the Engadine, and this time we took the Bernina express train to the Poschiavo valley to have lunch and stroll near the lake. The garden is very pleasant, with some dense trees that provide shadow. The food is really very good and considering it is Switzerland not so very expensive. Our lunch was under 100 CFS for two persons. Anyway, only a fraction of the cost of the round trip by the Bernina express :-\

The ristorante da Cesar (restaurant belonging to the Pensione Lardi) offers great food for correctly calculated prices. The restaurant is very nicely decorated with items from old times. There is also a garden which is very nice. The ambiente is very familiar. The old costumers go to eat with Paola, the owner and she is known all over the valley.pore

Motrice was conveniently located to the railway station. The main reason I chose this restaurant was because I didn't have much time between trains. The food was unexpectedly great. Even a simple dish, such as spaghetti pomodoro was memorable. Portions were generous and service was good. Prices were relatively low for Switzerland..

Can't remember how we found this..... Several antique timber adorned rooms on 1st floor and modern timber rooms on 2nd, prefererred the former. Very comfortable, clean and helpful staff. There's a smoking only downstairs Bar but on the 1st floor a couple of beautiful old rooms with tables in white linen+silver service fir dinner. Wine was local ...Merlot and excellent. Not a 5 Star hotel but a great old Swiss one!!

Il locale rinnovato da poco è veramente carino. In questa occasione abbiamo mangiato la pizza, ottima anche se non c'è il forno a legna. Il personale è stato discreto, abbiamo potuto chiaccherare tranquillamente in un'atmosfera rilassata! Lo consiglio!

We were early, but had time to browse the menu while having a drink. Free snacks kept coming, perhaps because the head waitress felt sorry for us .It was threatening to thunder, but they let us sit outside, eventhough they cleaned the rest of the tables!When the food came it was plentiful and very good. The only negative were the uncomfortable chairs.
