A ski town that is also an authentic ranching center, Steamboat Springs is more down home than glitzy. Cowboy hats and ski boots are equally welcome on the city's friendly streets. The place where downhill skiing first flourished in the United States, Steamboat Springs remains a premiere slopes destination. But the town also offers outdoor recreation of every stripe and season. And after a long day hiking, schussing or shopping, you can relax in one of the natural hot springs for which the town was named.

Best hotel experience ever !!

I visited in early June to get my daughter to a summer job with Rocky Mountain Youth Corps. We are so happy we chose to stay at the Nordic Lodge. The rooms were very clean. The location in downtown Steamboat was awesome. The parking is free. The price was right. The staff were amazing. Greg and Emily were so helpful with their local knowledge and recommendations for restaurants directions etc. They even offered to drive my daughter and all her gear over on the day her job started. We ended up extending our stay at Nordic Lodge. Great family run business with great customer service in a great location.

Very nice stay at the Homewood Suites

Reviewed By MikePaK

We enjoyed our stay at the Homewood Suites for a quick overnight visit to Steamboat. The room was huge and exceptionally clean, bed very comfortable, staff was friendly and the breakfast was outstanding. Only complaint would be that housekeeping needs to wait until after checkout to clean out the room. We went to breakfast and returned to our room to chill for a bit before hitting the road and housekeeping was already tearing the room apart. This was at 8:45 a.m. and checkout was not til 11 a.m.. When I mentioned this to the front desk at checkout her response was "yeah, sometimes they do that when they knock and no one answers". Not the best policy and needs correcting.

Property and Mgmt overhaul needed

Not a 4 star hotel as advertised. Very old and outdated decor, room hvac and service. Horrible coffee maker in room. Was there 6 nights and never had bed made up much less sheet change. Only maid service was daily trash empty and towels exchanged. Front desk staff was unprofessional in my opinion and didn’t explain the housekeeping policy or much of anything. Hotel staff was sloppy in dress and attitude. Nice fitness facility and pool. Only positive amenity.

Rabbit Ears Motel

Luxury night's sleep minus the luxury price. The Rabbit Ears Motel, located in beautiful Steamboat Springs, Colorado, is your choice for comfortable, affordable lodging right in the center of downtown. Either they built Steamboat around our motel, or our motel was conveniently built in the center of all the action. So, both ways, you know that all the activities and nightlife the valley provides are in close proximity. Choose a weekend get-away for the family, or stay with us the whole week. World-class skiing with slope-side ski-in, ski-out convenience is expensive and overrated. Our motel is right on the main street and just a 5 minutes' bus ride to the gondola and the base of the ski area. Oh, and the bus is free. Lastly, all our guests are welcome to get reduced-priced Old Town Hot Springs passes for our recreation center, just across the street.

Ideal location for ski trip to Steamboat.

Very good motel in an excellent location on edge of Main Street opposite town hot springs. Short walk to the numerous excellent pubs and restaurants in town and right beside bus stop to ski slopes ( some direct so only 10 mins). Rooms decent size and very clean ( we had rooms with balcony overlooking the creek and woods behind the motel). Front of house team very helpful and friendly. Basic buffet breakfast available. The original pink neon rabbit sign made us smile every time we saw it.

Looks like it may have been updated since our last visit. This used to be a Ramada Hotel and it may never be as nice as other Time Shares or VRBOs in Steamboat Springs. The main road has not been fixed for ten years or more. If you want to get a flat tire or require alignment, just drive on this horrible road!

Friendly and cozy environment. While relatively newly renovated, the bones of its original form are still apparent but the reno is a hip vibe. The room was overlooking the pool and while extremely small, the patio was a nice surprise. To a person, the staff was friendly, warm and helpful. I highly recommend this small gem.

The Bristol by Magnuson Worldwide

Located in the heart of downtown Steamboat Springs, The Bristol - built in 1948 - is an intimate boutique hotel nestled in one of Main Street's charming historic buildings. Blending authentic ski town character with a touch of contemporary style, The Bristol is Steamboat's "unique boutique".

A regular room was quite tiny.

We chose this hotel because of it’s location downtown. The staff was good, and they did include coffee and a very light breakfast. Their scones were not placed on the counter until around 8:30 am, so we dined elsewhere. Parking beside the building was easy enough, and we were able to walk around the neighborhood with no problems. Our second floor room was so small that I could not open my suitcase, despite the small bench near the foot of the bed. An air conditioning unit took up much of the room space. There was a wall unit, but it was apparently broken (certainly was not working). We did need the air conditioning. The bed was comfortable enough. The bedside light had a charging section for my cell phone, but that did not work to charge the phone during the second night for some reason. The bathroom was very small, with no counter at all, and the sink filled up each time we turned on the water. In a sort of basket hanging on the wall was a privacy sign for the door. There also was a very small round tag hidden under the privacy one-this was supposed to be hung on the room door if you wanted the room to be serviced. We never saw this little tag, so we found the bed unmade, with no fresh towels when we returned in the late afternoon. The desk clerk was able to get things in order before we returned that night. There is no elevator, and you have to carry your bags up a curving staircase-and down a narrow hallway. There is a lounge area on the second floor, and a hot tub which was closed. The downstairs lounge has a dining table and a nice seating area.
