Reviewed By kazia66We only stayed here for 1 night so this review is based on a very limited knowledge. We arrived in the afternoon and the hotel was walking distance from the JJ Express bus drop off. We had to wait a little for an English speaker to arrive and check us in. They also asked us what time we wanted to have breakfast and what we wanted (I think there were 3 options). The hotel is set up as someone's home rather than a hotel but that didn't bother us. Our room was on the second floor and felt quite cosy but was on the small side. The staff supplied us with a fan heater as it gets very cold at night. We couldn't work it out for a while but eventually got it going. Just in time for a power cut! It didn't last long, maybe half an hour so it wasn't too bad. Power cuts are pretty common in Myanmar. The bathroom felt very cold and that's because the window didn't close. It was a wet room and unfortunately wasn't very pleasant, the curtains were pretty grubby. The shower was hot though. The owners also run a restaurant next door called Seven Sisters which is highly recommended. We ate there for convenience and it was tasty however it was pretty overpriced for Myanmar conditions and the local area. The breakfast was served on the terrace outside the hotel and was ready for when we requested it. It was quite basic but ok, no major complaints either than the usual business of having super hard butter and very dry toast. Overall, I think it's an ok option for 1 night but not sure I would stay there longer.

Reviewed By ditsywitsyAfter taking a break from writing reviews I decided it was time to recap some of my experiences for last couple of years. First cab off the rank is the wonderful Mount Royal Motel. Have stayed here several times and always been lucky enough to occupied a room that overlooks the valley and has, in season, avocados that can be picked from the veranda. This is an very reasonable hotel/motel that is located on the left hand side of the duel road approaching Kalaw from the direction of the He Ho airport and Taunggyi. Quiet, great breakfast and excellent service. If you ask the owner nicely he might even invite you to join him at his favourite bar (Hi Snacks & Drink – See many reviews on Tripadvisor) where friends get together to jam and sing. Highly recommended

Reviewed By DesM026I paid US$65 for a room at the Lashio Motel. For this price at other locations, you would have a room of quality. The rooms here are below average. This is OK if the prices and services were to match. There was no attention to detail and the cleanliness was substandard. There was mould on the window frames and mould in the fridge seals. This is a health hazard.

Reviewed By yadanaro859We travelled in Kalaw the last month. We arrived early morning around 1:00AM. We can’t check in as soon as. But they give a room to take a rest at moment. Also, breakfast was good. Staffs are very friendly and kind. That’s good.
