I was told about this place from many of the local restaurants in town that purchased their bread from them. The location I was given has a ordinary bakery next door to it that did offer a unique chocolate Pastry, however I had the incorrect location for months. Then early one morning I was out shopping and smelled Heaven coming from next door. I looked inside and there was a mob getting a variety of the best smelling and best tasting bread in Ecuador. The owners are a delight. They have a standard of breads served daily and a few daily specials. Jalapeño bread, and Parmigiana bread are my favorites. It is a must find on the Main Street going through town. They also have some great Sweet creations available like tiramisu. Mr. Alan,We are very pleased that you found our place and that now you have been enjoying of our products. You are a very lovely person and we hope to please you always with our bread and have you as our customer as long as our bakery is open.

A clean refreshing surprise in Montanita. Stopped in for a frozen coffee (Café Helado) and it was so delicious. We went back one evening for Arepas. We ordered the Arepas Especiales. Beef (Pelúa) and chicken (Reina Pepiada). They were the best we have ever had. The owner is a wonderful young lady and really pleasant to chat with.

My boyfriend and I stumbled across Carmita's pancake house. By mere coincidence it turns out that she was going through a transition of turning her restaurant into vegan/vegetarian. We decided to eat the meal of the day which changes daily but you always get a drink, a soup and a meal for only $3.50. We didn't have the soups although they looked delicious. We came here twice during our three days in Montanita and Carmita was absolutely lovely, even with our language barrier she gave us the best service and advice for travel. The first day we had a soy steak with soy cheese on top, salad, cooked banana, rice and a homemade soy mayo. This came with a fresh squeezed strawberry and pineapple juice. Day two we had quinoa croquettes with banana crisps, rice, salad and homemade soy mayo. This came with pinapple juice. Both times it cost us $3 because we didn't eat the soup. You will not regret going here. We were overwhelmed with her kindness and delicious food. She was so enthusiastic and by coming here not only will you be happy with the food but you will help fuel her dream. Well perhaps not quite in the clouds but this rooftop restaurant above Rincon D'Olon Hotel offers stunning 360 degree views of the coast in front and the hills behind. In the immortal words of John Lennon "above us only sky". The vista at sunset has to be seen to be believed and when that fiery ball does disappear the ever changing sky over the sea will keep you watching for as long as you stay. And as if that is not enough the food is pretty good too! I was there a few nights ago and enjoyed what I can honestly say was one of the best meals I've had during my three months in Ecuador. The fish was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth, the accompanying vegetables were complimented by a delicious light curry sauce and the fresh crispy French fries left me wanting to do it all again. Which I did the following night. Highly recommended.

A truly amazing and refreshing place in the heart of a chaotic town!!Great honest and wholesome and FRESH food! I had an amazing COFFEE & ACAI bowl and can honestly tell you, it was Devine! I was GRANDPAcking in Montanita for 4 nights and tried a couple of the top rated Tripadisor 'cheap eats' places.At Casa Fistook you can get Shakshukas. I had their âCarnivorâ for $6.50 with a $2 pint of Brahma Beer.It was great to have something different from the standard Ecuadorian (chicken, beans, and rice).Thank you for your comment and visit !! hope you had a really good time in Montanita . One of the finest places in town. Happy hour starts at 4pm with cocktails worth 4 times the price in any other country, personally the best drinks in 2 months of roving South America in search of a decent martini-which Lido does not make.However, the $9 burgers including a mojito should make this a destination on a Tuesday night if not for any other delicious item off the grill. Vegetables you ask? They have those too, which are as rare as a good martini...
