We stopped in after walking up the beach for about an hour, looking for a refreshing drink. Looking down from the Malecon this looked like the best place and we weren't disappointed. Vern had a Pilsner and I had a pineapple smoothie/shake. It was delightful, naturally sweet, very refreshing. As I'd almost completed the drink he brought out the rest and refilled my glass. I was stunned1 Who does that? Then to top that a street sweeper came by, working and he asked if he'd like some water. The man said yes. He got out a plastic cup, full of ice and water and gave it to him. You must give props when someone is a decent human as well as a good business man.

This is a great bar in front of the beach, they offer a well variety of beers and cocktails. The music is mainly deep house and chillout, and is great to hear it just watching the waves in front of you. Scott the owner has a great vibe and is always available to make your staying as pleasant as he can.Thank you very much for your kind words. A small restaurant/bar beside the sea wall with excellent happy hour specials, far superior to most places in town. As for the food, maybe the best burger Iâve had in my life? Best in town at least which is a big statement as there is no shortage of good eats in Montanita.Great staff and a waiter that speaks English, most of the times I stopped by.

Great atmosphere and cuisine. Really impressed to find such a talented chef in Montañita. Also grateful for Iris, who served our table - she was wonderful. In addition to enjoying the fine dining, the staff was kind enough to let us watch the US Open match on the TV. Such a gem of a restaurant in this hippie town, I hope it continues to do well. My boyfriend and I stumbled across Carmita's pancake house. By mere coincidence it turns out that she was going through a transition of turning her restaurant into vegan/vegetarian. We decided to eat the meal of the day which changes daily but you always get a drink, a soup and a meal for only $3.50. We didn't have the soups although they looked delicious. We came here twice during our three days in Montanita and Carmita was absolutely lovely, even with our language barrier she gave us the best service and advice for travel. The first day we had a soy steak with soy cheese on top, salad, cooked banana, rice and a homemade soy mayo. This came with a fresh squeezed strawberry and pineapple juice. Day two we had quinoa croquettes with banana crisps, rice, salad and homemade soy mayo. This came with pinapple juice. Both times it cost us $3 because we didn't eat the soup. You will not regret going here. We were overwhelmed with her kindness and delicious food. She was so enthusiastic and by coming here not only will you be happy with the food but you will help fuel her dream. Well perhaps not quite in the clouds but this rooftop restaurant above Rincon D'Olon Hotel offers stunning 360 degree views of the coast in front and the hills behind. In the immortal words of John Lennon "above us only sky". The vista at sunset has to be seen to be believed and when that fiery ball does disappear the ever changing sky over the sea will keep you watching for as long as you stay. And as if that is not enough the food is pretty good too! I was there a few nights ago and enjoyed what I can honestly say was one of the best meals I've had during my three months in Ecuador. The fish was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth, the accompanying vegetables were complimented by a delicious light curry sauce and the fresh crispy French fries left me wanting to do it all again. Which I did the following night. Highly recommended.

This place looked nice so went in for coffee. It was $2.75 for a flat white so I expected it to be good however unfortunately it was horrible. I could make a better instant coffee. We were not discouraged by the fact that we were the only guests at that moment - probably because of late Sunday evening and low season and we didn't regret it. This place is known for huge empanadas with different fillings. We went for hawayana and one with ham and mushrooms and both were delicious. For a drink try jugo de tomate de arbol.

Found Tiki Limbo the first afternoon of a 3 day weekend and ended up there everyday at least once. A full coffee bar with espresso, doppio, cappuccino, etc. delicious pastries (try the croissants). A creative menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner - the chefs really know what they are doing...for dinner try the crab cannoli! Canât say enough about the atmosphere and friendly staff - my weak Spanish combined with their good English made for a fun time. Tiki Limbo is a world class place!
