Safe place
Reviewed By Lejames1965This hotel was one of those close to the airport it was also one of the few listed on the Ministerio de salud list as a safe place to quarantine during the pandemic. Not knowing if our PCR test would come back negative we booked the hotel for 14 days from our home country. 2 days before departure even though our test came back negative and migraćion cleared us from quarantine we decided to stay at las Mercedes for 2-3 days and check the area. The area is quiet and beautiful and so is the hotel. The staff is very friendly and easy to deal with,Christian speaks good English and is very helpful. Rooms are tiny and a little old but kept very clean and up to Covid quarantine standards.Breakie is included and excellent,served in the little dining area for those testing negative and in the room for those in quarantine. Other meals can be ordered with various apps like “Tipti ” or the local delivery services called Apricot.Christian can also arrange for food delivery or a house cook meal @ 5$ pers Hot showers and a beautiful garden to complete that little town charms. Highly recommended

Comfortable overnight between flights
Reviewed By jeffrosenkrantzIdeally located near the airport, this comfortable space served me-well on two separate occasions. The space was very clean and offered everything needed including a hot shower. There are not many shops or restaurants nearby but Uber Eats or similar apps work to order delivery. The team were very warm and provided for a great conversation as I waited for my ride. I would definitely stay here again for a short stopover in the Quito area.

Rustic and Quaint Accomodations
Reviewed By CL8N8REl Parque is different, not at all like a typical hotel. You can spend a lot of time looking at all the oddities in the dining room. Breakfast is good. Interesting art is everywhere. The staff are nice and helpful. Restaurants are nearby and the central park is across the street. I recommend you stay at El Parque and ask for the upstairs room. It has an awesome bed, and a big flat screen smart TV that will function with English or Spanish audio. I will visit Ecuador again and I will spend my layover at the El Parque.

Absolutely Worth It!
Reviewed By L617JDdavemWe rested here for two nights and one full day after 2 weeks in Ecuador and would have certainly stayed longer. You can be certain upon return to Quito we will make this boutique property our home base for a longer stay. The whole place oozes charm and invites you to relax. We enjoyed a very nice dinner and a breakfast from a most gracious host. The main house reminds us of a country home built long ago. Our room was right beside the pool and a hexagon style design and we thought the price was very comfortable. The proximity to the airport is big plus. Thank you for a splendid conclusion to our wonderful time in Ecuador!

Airport shuttle disaster
Reviewed By lolabella4321I called the morning before I arrived to request the free airport shuttle. I arrive in Quito and there is no shuttle. Thus, I have to pay $10 for a taxi. Once i arrive to the hostel, i tell the lady about the shuttle situation. She did not give me a refund for the taxi and insisted there was someone waiting for me at the airport. At the airport, i waited at the domestic arrivals, expecting a sign. I then checked the international arrivals, just in case. Still no one. I then go outside both arrival areas. No one. There is also no free shuttle to the airport from the hostel, despite the “free shuttle” advertised on their website. Would not recommend this place.

We are located 10 minutes from Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Tababela - Quito – Ecuador. Pretty cottage , where my parents live Raul and Rosalba , they are personal hosts of our visitors. They are very nice people with whom you can share interesting conversations , they speak Spanish and my mother is a lovely housewife. I 'm Isabel and my work is making reservations. Tababela is made of wood and concrete, surrounded by trees and flowers, with double rooms with private bathroom. Our house is familiar, where we offer a unique and exclusive space for you . If you love nature and tranquility of the countryside in the Ecuadorian sierra 'm sure you'll love it! Saint Mary's is a beautiful piece of Paradise on Earth , with a very nice lady ( my mother) hostess who cooks a delicious breakfast for you begin the best day.
A nightmare start to our holidays
Reviewed By R CMy wife and I are senior citizens who have traveled a lot and by far this was our worst nightmare ever. We chose this hotel based on location for a short stopover in Quito. We sent 2 messages to confirm airport shuttle pick-up and the hotel confirmed pick-up on both occasions. Upon arrival near midnight, we looked for a driver with sign and could not find one. We called the number given by Booking.com for this hotel but it was a Belgian tel. number and there was no answer. We searched the Internet and called all numbers associated to this hotel and again no answer. We decided to wait and see if the shuttle pick-up would show up. After approx. an hour of waiting, we took a taxi to the hotel at 1:15 am. The hotel is located in a very secluded area (sketchy-looking). There is nothing in this area of town (no restaurants, shops, etc.). It is located in the middle of nowhere! The hotel is gated with an Intercom at the gate. We got out of the cab and fortunately asked the driver to wait while we tried to contact management. There was no answer with their intercom. Again, we tried to call but no answer. We knocked loudly on the gate, no answer. We shouted loudly "hola" to get their attention. The driver tried to help us. Dogs barked in the hotel compound but still no answer. We were left out with no other recourse but to return to the airport and sleep on benches at 2:00 am. The hotel contacted us by email the next day on 3 or 4 occasions with a different excuse each time but none of them made sense. After contacting Booking.com to complain, the hotel finally (and this was after 4 or 5 days) offered an apology and a free night in the future. By then, we had already cancelled our future booking with them for our return stay in Quito and passed on their offer, preferring instead to book elsewhere. The hotel has great reviews and it was one of the reasons for choosing it in the first place, but beware that they may not be as honest or as dependable as the reviews indicate, based upon our experience with them. Their lack of service, by leaving their customers stranded at the airport and just outside of their gate, was totally unacceptable and we would never recommend a booking at this lodging.

Beautiful landscape and great manger!
Reviewed By Danny CThe landscaping is gorgeous. Flowers and fruit trees everywhere along with a glorious tree house. It’s easy to forget that you’re nearby the airport since it is so quiet and beautiful. We arrived late and without a reservation and the manager was very accommodating. He found us a great large room and provided a list of recommendations for dinner nearby. He patiently endured a whole host of random questions. Breakfast the next morning was simple and delicious. My only disappointment is that we could not stay a bit longer to enjoy the grounds. If you need to stay near the airport for an early morning flight and are content with very simple rooms at a fair price, I highly recommend checking out the Quinta Emilia.
