We stayed at La Gondala for four days and was not expecting to have a world class restaurant inside their little tiki bar. The beer was always cold and the food was out of this world. Laura was a very welcoming smile passing out pilsners all day and she kept the bar and restaurant spotless. When no one was around she was constantly tiding and sweeping. Jhon is from Columbia and in my opinion should be rated a four star chef. His presentations were gorgeous and the food was out of this world. In four days, we only ate two meals that were not prepared at La Gondala. Amazing Sushi, fried calamari, wok bowls with any type or combination of meat and rice or noodles. The fish in coconut sauce was my absolute favorite. They even have some of the best hamburgers around. Oh and the desserts. I have to stop now. Walk in off the beach and have a four star meal or stay at La Gondala and have a heavenly experience.

I stayed in montanita for a month while studying Spanish and found this place in my last 2 weeks. I wish I had found it sooner! The pancakes are unreal, and the lunch deal is ridiculous. For 4 dollars you get delicious fresh healthy lunch, usually soup, main and a cupcake and fresh juice. The cupcakes are incredible and coffee is delicious, hard to find better in montanita. To top it all off the owner is super friendly and speaks perfect English. Im not even a vegetarian, but I kept going back for more.

We stopped in after walking up the beach for about an hour, looking for a refreshing drink. Looking down from the Malecon this looked like the best place and we weren't disappointed. Vern had a Pilsner and I had a pineapple smoothie/shake. It was delightful, naturally sweet, very refreshing. As I'd almost completed the drink he brought out the rest and refilled my glass. I was stunned1 Who does that? Then to top that a street sweeper came by, working and he asked if he'd like some water. The man said yes. He got out a plastic cup, full of ice and water and gave it to him. You must give props when someone is a decent human as well as a good business man.

This is a great bar in front of the beach, they offer a well variety of beers and cocktails. The music is mainly deep house and chillout, and is great to hear it just watching the waves in front of you. Scott the owner has a great vibe and is always available to make your staying as pleasant as he can.Thank you very much for your kind words. A small restaurant/bar beside the sea wall with excellent happy hour specials, far superior to most places in town. As for the food, maybe the best burger Iâve had in my life? Best in town at least which is a big statement as there is no shortage of good eats in Montanita.Great staff and a waiter that speaks English, most of the times I stopped by.

Great atmosphere and cuisine. Really impressed to find such a talented chef in Montañita. Also grateful for Iris, who served our table - she was wonderful. In addition to enjoying the fine dining, the staff was kind enough to let us watch the US Open match on the TV. Such a gem of a restaurant in this hippie town, I hope it continues to do well. Well perhaps not quite in the clouds but this rooftop restaurant above Rincon D'Olon Hotel offers stunning 360 degree views of the coast in front and the hills behind. In the immortal words of John Lennon "above us only sky". The vista at sunset has to be seen to be believed and when that fiery ball does disappear the ever changing sky over the sea will keep you watching for as long as you stay. And as if that is not enough the food is pretty good too! I was there a few nights ago and enjoyed what I can honestly say was one of the best meals I've had during my three months in Ecuador. The fish was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth, the accompanying vegetables were complimented by a delicious light curry sauce and the fresh crispy French fries left me wanting to do it all again. Which I did the following night. Highly recommended.

This bar became our favorite place in montanita. Friendly and engaging bar owners always made us feel welcome.During the day its a great place to people and surf watch from beach hammocks. Amazing sun downer location and fun place during the evening. Food is great value and tasty and if you are lucky enough to be around on Friday the evening barbecue should not be missed.

The view of this restaurant is itâs best asset. Being right on the beach you get the breeze while at your table. The cuisine is typical Ecuadoraian/Peruvian fare. Like most places in town the service is rather slow but wasnât a problem. All of our food was good though a little overpriced. I did love the Lost Dharma Initiative theme they have going on. Dear Ross thanks so much for the feedback, for sure we are going to improve the service in the resturant!We hope seeing you around!
