We decided to eat here for a great German schnitzel as a change from the tapas and Spanish cuisine. We were not disappointed as it was the very best schnitzel we have ever had smothered in a nice creamy mushroom sauce and accompanied with a small amount of salad and crispy rosti potatoes. We also shared a small mixed salad that was also fresh and delicious. Service was friendly and prompt and the whole atmosphere was cosy on a cool Mediterranean evening. My wife enjoyed the house white wine and i enjoyed an great glass of Erdinger. We would definitely go again and highly recommend El Barril. They have an extensive schnitzel menu and other offerings as well which would be equally delicious.

A varied and interesting menu of German dishes with attentive and friendly service. For my starter I had the dates, wrapped in bacon with apricots and a mild chili sauce. A good taste sensation. The medallions of pork with pepper sauce, frites and a side dish loaded with asparagus meant there was no further room for a dessert.

Pasamos por casualidad y no paramos a tomar una cerveza, nos sorprendió mucho ya que nos sacaron una tapa gratis con la caña, la tapa de chorizo buenÃsima y las albóndigas exquisitas. Os aconsejo las hamburguesas y las croquetas, que buenas. Por cierto el café me sorprendió, ya que soy muy cafetero. Servicio rápido y muy amables. Por cierto si vas con tu perro le sacan un bebedero con agua. Ya soy cliente asiduo.

Cheap but there is a reason for it. Not the best of locations either, being miles out from Denia. Adequate for a quick cheap stay.

I have been coming here for the last 14 years with my husband family and friends, I have never received anything but fantastic service and food I have tried most things on the menu and nothing fails to amaze me 100% worth a visit you won't be disappointed
