Inexplicably we were the only table in for (an admittedly late) lunch on a Saturday afternoon in summer. We thoroughly enjoyed the 20EUR set menu, which was essentially SEVEN courses! Five mini ones (quinoa appetiser, bread & alioli, manchego & chorizo/jamon/lomo, red pepper salad,and the best boquerones I've had in Spain) plus a full-size paella and dessert. Absolutely everything was delicious. Adding wine and coffee took the bill to about 55EUR for two, which seemed excellent value. In terms of service, I thought it was perfect - attentive but unobtrusive (I'm not a fan of over-friendly, super-chatty waiting staff!).My boyfriend described the decor as 'posh-hipster' - I thought it was comfortable in a grown-up sort of way. The only downside I can think of is that they don't have an outside terrace, but in Alicante in summer, it's not necessarily a bad thing to be inside with the air conditioning on.

Visited for dinner with a colleague and had a lovely meal. Only 4 tables and a small, freshly cooked menu. Food is high quality and authentic Italian. I had the gnocchi wth meatball sauce while my colleague had the vegetable tagliatelle. Portions were small but that suited me - I was comfortably full after 2 courses. We were also offered complimentary amuse bouche between courses. Wine is reasonably priced. I would definitely come back.

Lovely food all freshly cooked and very tasty. Excellent value and a good ambiance. John the owner makes you feel very welcome and goes out of his way to make sure you enjoy your meal accommodating any special requests. Couldnât fault the experience and will definitely be returning next year!

Called in here for a drink after walking from Levante beach - was very impressed by hospitality and cleanliness. Returned 2 days later for lunchtime meal and intend to go back before our week is over - have seen they are shut Tuesdays.

Read the reviews and thought we would go. Must say we had a really good meal for a set menu at 14 euros. The waiter explained the dishâs in great details which made a choice easy. The food and the service was good. We are returning in January and we will come back here the paella. Please go because this family run restaurant needs to continue to supply simple and quality food at a good price.

Very enjoyable Saturday lunch with family. Personal service with the chef (owner) and charming waitress explaining what was on offer. As a bread enthusiast the servicio pan, being chunky bread with alioli and tomato was lovely. The following tomate con salazones (dried salty tuna) unusual and enjoyable. As for my "sandwich of pork" (bocata de magro con tomato), this stew was exquisitely cooked. Personally I would have preferred a few green beans or some cous cous or arroz with it rather than more bread. Others had fish dishes which were not to my taste.We opted for sharing the surprise dessert (Corte Alicantino) whereupon the chef brought a plate of ice cream on a brioche type bun and promptly set alight to the top half! Quite a performance.The restaurant is in a basement down a flight of stairs. The walls are adorned with customer comments - you are invited to add your own. A fun meal which takes time as a small staff and tiny kitchen. So do choose a day when you are at your leisure and can enjoy a slow paced meal.Thanks somuch for your comment.We celebrate you enjoyed the Sotaterra experience. And we appreciate very much your suggestions.Just apologize again for the delay in the service, which is not usual at Sotaterra. As metioned our oven broke in the precise moment of serve you, so I had to "improvise" another technique to cook your dishes.Hope to see you soon.

We visited this restaurant to celebrate my friend Lizâs 60th Birthday.imagine our surprise when we got in to see a happy 60th banner on the wall beside our table.The staff were wonderful and went way above the call of duty to make sure we had a great time The food was wonderful and presentation was more like what you would get in a 5 star hotel.also the happy Birthday hat and 4 glasses of bubbly was a lovely treat. We will definitely be back and tell all our friends about it .Good to know the beef is Irish as well. I'm going to keep this short, because there is a plethora of glowing reviews about this amazing five table restaurant. That it compares with or exceeds the culinary experiences we've had at many famous destination dining spots is simply stunning when you consider that it's entire staff consists of the husband and wife team of Olivia and Fernando. The dining experience was exceptional, every dish was memorable. This restaurant is for those who adore great food. Just two tips. Make reservations and order their foie gras -- it will take you to gastronomic heaven.

We found this little restaurant by accident and were lucky enough to get a table. We both had different risottos and it's best I have ever had outside of Italy. Nice portions, beautifully presented ,we loved it so much we booked to come back our last night. We now wish we had gone another night, in fact we would probably eat there every night as in our opinion it was the best meals of our holiday. It isn't cheap and cheerful ...cheerful absolutely with great service and actually not expensive in quality. We don't have big appetites and usually just have a main course but as we both love arancini decided to share a starter.The lovely chef usually makes 3 as a starter but kindly made us 2 each.SO glad we had this as they were fabulous with gorgeous home made pesto. Perfectly cooked. I am returning in May and are going to be half board at the Canfali hotel where food is excellent BUT I will skip a dinner and eat here one evening. My friend and I will also be returning in November and this will be a must return to for dinner. Can't rave enough about this little restaurant it's fabulous.Wow thanks guys for you time and effort for this,lovely review, welcome to our Twisters Lovers Family big hug and see you soon Nino&Flavio
