One of the locals recommended this restaurant. We wished we hadn't listened to his advice. The owner raved on about his egg and fried potatoes dish as being out of this world" We ordered the dish along with some barbecued lamb chops, which were OK They made a mistake on the bill and charged us for two beers instead of one, which I discovered later. After correcting the error I still ended up paying an euro more for the single beer ( the Alhabra special- best lager in Spain) than I had paid a day earlier in Riopar, a few miles away. On the whole a very ordinary restaurant except for its one redeeming feature- THE MAGNIFICENT VIEW FROM ITS TERRACE.

Our first dining experience in this absolutely wonderful, picturesque town of Letur. As our dog Brisa accompanied us, we had to sit outside on the narrow balcony that overlooked the delightful square, but we were adequately prepared for the cool evening air. The young proprietor, called Carlos served us and was most helpful with his a la carte menu delivered verbally. We opted for pig ears, oxtail, squid, (which was served whole, we dissected it ourselves) Patatas Bravas, and Tiramisu for dessert. Two glasses of "Protos" wine and a jug of the wonderful water, which flows through the town (it's better than any of the bottled stuff, believe me!) I would also like to add that we visited the establishment on a second occasion and ordered the pork fillet, Brava potatoes and salpicon ( a small seafood salad).Finally, I would like to add that the main dining room of the establishment comprises what clearly used to be a "theatre" years ago, as can be clearly seen as you raise your head above you.Should you only visit one restaurant while in Letur, you cannot do better than this establishment, believe me. Just ask or Carlos and tell him "EL GALES" sent you.

Paramos a comer en este local al verlo lleno de clientes de la localidad. Tortilla, buenos torreznos, chorizos, ensaladilla, boquerones etc..., con una amplia exposición en vitrina del mostrador, asà como diversidad de bocadillos, en general platos de todo tipo, todo ello bien cocinado, con una buena atención y buena relación calidad precio.

Es un restaurante estupendo, familiar. Hay un buen ambiente, el personal con su jefe al frente son muy agradables. La comida está muy rica, es tÃpica de la zona, recomiendo la carrillera en salsa, el rabo de cerdo, las ensaladas.... Se esmeran en la presentación de los platos. Y además está muy bien de precio.

El restaurante está a la entrada del pueblo llegando desde HellÃn. Ofrece un menú diario al precio de 12â¬, todo incluido. Oferta principalmente platos de la zona de una elaboración correcta. Restaurante junto al bar, bastante abarrotado y mesas muy juntas. Esto desmerece un poco el local, pero una comida de menú como está al precio ofertado, merece una buena calificación

si visitas elche de la sierra o eres asiduo como yo a ir periódicamente, no puedes dejar de visitar la taskilla, si te gustan los caracoles, el rabo frito o comida tradicional de la zona debes pasarte por este acogedor bar. no solo la comida es espectacular, sino la atención de las personas que lo llevan, y por si fuera poco he descubierto un vino fabuloso semidulce que sirven allà que no esta a la venta al publico y que amablemente me trajeron dos botellas de la bodega del que lo hace. gracias por la atención, por la comida y por el buen vino que servÃs.

A most relaxed and chilled atmosphere, with the host, Eva, catering to all our various dietary needs - nut allergies, vegan, vegetarian - with great understanding and delicious results ! We enjoyed ourselves so much that we visited a second time. It was a lovely experience and Eva went so far as a surprise birthday cake for one of party ! A lovely, warm and friendly place, providing super food.
