On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina

Every day at 8 a.m., we start chopping veggies, soaking beans, and prepping our mesquite-fired grill. Not because we have to, but because we believe in delicious flavors made-to-order, from hand-rolled enchiladas to our sizzling fajitas to guacamole made

The chips and salsa was good. They had a special lunch and dinner menu for OKC Restaurant week. I got queso dip, one beef taco, and one enchilada with mushroom and spinach. The Enchilada was very small. It was a fixed menu. $11.99 with a drink. A bit pricey for lunch/Mexican. I think there was a misunderstanding with my waitress. She said she thought the meal came with two enchiladas, I originally asked for the Chicken, which I would have preferred. After she said it came with two I said I would try the mushroom and spinach for the second one. Well the dish only came with one enchilada and they gave me the mushroom and spinach. It was ok but I would personally not order it again. I drank 1/2 sweet ice tea with 1/2 unsweetened tea. Waitress gave me a refill in a to go cup and shortly after she put it on my table I noticed a puddle on table. Must have had a hole in Styrofoam ? Luckily she had given me extra napkins. Inside looked clean. I did not use bathroom.

We went here for lunch. The staff is super friendly, and there was not long of a wait. Didn't like the beans, they tasted really burned. Food was average.

We have lived in Midwest City most of our lives, and never really liked frequenting this establishment because it was so "grimey" inside. And it took FOREVER to get your food. It was such a pleasant surprise when we went in today.Clean, remodeled, friendly staff, fast service. Obviously new management has stepped in. Will definitely eat here again.

We have been eating here for many years and the food quality is great. The avocado salad is great, as well as the enchiladas. Usually I don't care for the rice that is served at Mexican restaurants, but theirs is good. I love that they have a big parking lot and we don't have to drive around looking for parking.

Our friends in OKC recommended this restaurant, and we were not disappointed. The margaritas were tasty, complimentary chips and white cheese dip quite unique, and the complimentary sopapilla dessert over-the-top. Of course, the cheese enchilada entrees (our go-to) were excellent.Although our waiter was somewhat hard to understand with his thick Spanish accent, he was very diligent and friendly.

Los Vaqueros

The staff was very friendly and helpful with our food choices. I had ordered chili relleno without cheese. The waiter came back and told me they were already made with cheese and this order wasn't possible. He said many of their food items were premade. So, I ordered tamales without cheese sauce. These were ok--just like frozen ones in the store, but more expensive. Refried beans and rice were edible--but not that great. My friends liked their food, enchiladas. Therefore, this place isn't on my "favorite list" because of food allergy.
