Really nice camping spot

Reviewed By Molly C

Stayed here in a powered site over 5 years ago and loved it so decided to stay again for a couple of nights. Place is now under new management with skeleton staff but it is still as beautiful and peaceful as it was 5 years ago. The young guy who checked us in when we arrived was really nice and polite and apparently he and his partner will be running the place now. Huge job so wish them well. Pool is nice and refreshing. Toilets and showers are ok and acceptable. The Bamboo walk that we did 5 years ago is closed off, not sure why but can only assume it needs some maintenance and gardening done in that area. Internet here is shocking. It's hit and miss if u get any data, same with phone reception. Some times during the day and evening its slow but accessible, other times its impossible to get anything 5 minutes later. Apparently only Telstra works here. Mozzies are a nightmare there but i still would come back as i love the look of it and all the land and plants and trees on the land. Communication to actually enquire about powered sites and accommodation was ridiculous and in the end we just had to arrive there and hope they had a vacant spot there, so communication really needs to be improved but property is nice.

The room service is once weekly if your long term . You get a sheet only on your bed no mater how cold you may feel there is nothing else . Leave a morsel of food and you will be attacked by ants . Arrived early and had music flogging my ears from 3 till 5 :30 . I’ve been here long term and wouldn’t recommend it to any one . I’ve had community camps providing better . On the up it has a gated car park to for 3 cars out of 18 odd rooms . If you can educate people to park you may get out when required for work if not aim for ten if your lucky .

Great place to visit

Visited to also do the cultural tour. We had a great time. The rooms are well thought through & comfortable. The tour of the arts centre was also worthwhile. It was good to meet local people & elders, and see their art.

Put it on the bucket list

This is a must see for anyone driving Stuart Hwy in the NT. Half museum, half pub. It's 3ks or so off the highway, but much more interesting than the average motel. Besides, there's not a lot of choice within a few hundred ks. Accommodation is mining doing style (I think they have other options), but very clean and comfortable, and just a short stroll to the Daly River Inn itself. The pub oozes character with quirky memorabilia all over the place. Dinner was a simple steak - but really perfectly cooked. Washed down with a bottle of red it was a great meal. They had a 2-piece band playing good music and there was a busy friendly vibe. We'll definitely go back.

Outback Pioneer Hotel

Nice and simple!

Reviewed By Jeddey

I was impressed with the Outback Pioneer Lodge. It was far better than I was expecting. I had booked to stay here as being in the middle of nowhere all the other hotels were very expensive, plus we would be out exploring Uluru, not hanging back at the hotel. The room was big, had a comfortable bed, seperate toilet area and shower. It was clean and comfortable and exactly what we were after. The bar was great and we could relax here for a cheap meal and a drink after a long day! The viewing area was amazing as it had views of Uluru and Kata Tjuta and we saw a brilliant sunset. You really get an outback experience here!! Staff were friendly and helpful. If you come to Uluru to spend the whole time in a fancy hotel then you’ve missed the point of coming.. get outside and explore and have a real outback experience!

Great stay but Night Manager is terrrible

Reviewed By Sebastian T

Liked · The rooms were great and the cleaner was awesome. She did a great job and we are grateful for her assistance. She always provided such a great service and despite our friend causing havoc down the hallway, she was very professional about the situation. I hope the night manager can learn something from her. Disliked · The night manager was a terrible person. There were 3 of us staying in room 2. On our first night, one of my mates decided to let off the fire extinguisher down the hallway while he was partying with another room who were playing loud music. My other mate and I were asleep during this time. We were asked to leave in the morning because of the loud music and the fire extinguisher incident (even though only one of my mates caused it). I can understand why, because that type of behaviour is not acceptable, and we had told our mate that too. We also made sure he paid for the cleaning. The bigger manager allowed us to stay, which I am forever grateful for. However, since then, the night manager would abuse us. On our way to Sunday sesh, he came out of the pub and proceeded to call us faggots and pooftas. Telling us to "F-off". I understand why he is frustrated, as my other mate and I were also frustrated at our friend's behaviour. However, continuing to abuse us was not acceptable and isn't a level of service that we should be getting. We loved our stay at the hotel, the rooms were amazing and most of the staff were great, however, the Night Manager needs to be more professional.
