We celebrated our wedding anniversary at this lovely restaurant and had a fabulous time. The food was beyond expectations and the service wonderful.As we live in the USA we cannot regularly come here which we regret! But we will recommend this restaurant highly to our friends and you !!

We went to Elkaar for dinner and had a set menu as we were 10 people. 4 courses menus with unusual "amuse-bouche" to start with, then amazing fish, delicious soup, meat and great dessert. Overall, super nice staff, really good food (great wine too), a tiny bit long but for a 4 courses menu maybe it's normal. Congrats to the chef !

We came for dinner after the gay pride parade activities finished. I had the steak tartare and the Chateaubriand. Both were exceptional and good value for money. Good choices of sauces served with the steak. The gentleman that served us was friendly and attentive. Also the bathroom was so clean and beautiful with candles lit and a choice of hand creams... such a nice touch. Will definitely return.

My wife and I had the opportunity to dine at La Rive in the Amstel Hotel on the Amstel Canal. It was the total dining experience from the starters to the appertifs between servings to the starter to the entree to the dessert. Service was superb handling our every need. And dining on the canal topped it off. The wine selection was amazing. We had a wonderful meal at Jaspers. Itâs a friendly place featuring continental haute cuisine and an extensive wine list. Definitely one of the top 5 restaurants in Amsterdam. We had great fish, asparagus soup and desert dishes. Service was very attentive. Each dish presented in our 4 course dinner was accompanied by a discussion of the ingredients.

The menu has a proxy fixe option and ala cart. We ordered ala cart. Garden snails were perfect as well as a superb pigeon dish. Perfect. The other personâs had a turbot and and scallops. All dishes were very pleasing and tasteful. Good wine selections and very nice cocktails.The restaurant is small but the atmosphere is cozy and very warm. Staff was absolutely delightful.Little did we know our son-in-law contacted the restaurant to let them know of my wifeâs birthday. Nothing was said until the meal was over. We were leaving and Chef Kuipers met us at the door and thanked us for dining with him. He gave my wife a beautiful box with birthday greetings on the box and a nice apple cake inside. Quite a special touch.It is expensive but one should expect the prices with the quality and atmosphere.Dear rhpatt29,Thank you for your 5 star review on Tripadvisor. I had the pumpkin soup and fish of the day and both were spectacular. The service was perfect - attentive but not overwhelming. I was staying at the hotel and when I finished my lunch, they called to the reception so someone could come and take me to my room (I was waiting for it to be ready).Dear Beth,Thank you for taking the time to write this review and share it on TripAdvisor.
