Thyme on Argent

Reviewed By pedro830

Had been out to Silverton on a reasonably hot day and, by the time we returned to Broken Hill, we were parched and hungry. Walked the City Centre and eventually spotted Thyme on Argent. My wife and I ordered our toasted sandwiches ( on Turkish bread) and a couple of milk shakes. We sat outside on the footpath setting and did not have long to wait for our beautifully prepared and presented lunch which was reasonably priced. A memorable experience in an Alfresco setting and plenty of passers-by to observe. Highly recommended.

Charlotte's at the Grand Cafe

The food was good. We were travelling about during the day so dined there at breakfast times. it always seemed to have customers around both local and tourists. The owner and staff were friendly and food was delivered fairly quickly. They make a good cup of Coffee. The cafe is centrally located on the main street( Argent St).

The Orange Spot

The Orange cafe in the main street of Broken Hill is the place to go for a great breakfast. In winter it's always cosy &warm .The staff are friendly and the bacon is cooked to perfection (for me) always crispy. We pass through here each year &never disappointed. An older style cafe predominately Orange.A pot of tea is a decent pot for two!!Also because it's so warm is because all the gas heaters are on !!!

we had our first meal at Broken hill here last weekend, we have been here several times as we annually travel to Broken Hill and have previously loved eating here. This time we had 5 friends with us on our recommendation. Unfortunately we were not happy with our meals. Three of us ordered prawn dishes being prawns and rice in a volauvant and one in a salad. The volauvant was tough and hard to cut, the prawns were universally tasteless. we would suggest that the restaurant not use prawns.
