The restaurant is situated in a beautiful medieval building at the first floor. The room has been renovated at itâs best. The food is outstanding. We had duck liver on caramelized pickled cabbage. Best we ever had! Main was KAPAUN a special kind of special chicken from France, a specialty during the Xmas season. Again superb! The good service was topped by the tenant/director Sepp Wimmer who is attentively looking after his guests. I went here for dinner with some work colleagues. The restaurant is in a beautiful old building and very tastefully renovated.The menu was extremely interesting and varied with an excellent wine list to complement the meal.Between us , we had salmon, tuna sashimi and a green salad as starters, followed by either grilled veal or a steak for mains.Everyone agreed that their dishes were excellent, the only downer been that we all wanted to have the "house speciality" veal but unfortunately they only had three portions available. A bit of a disappointment considering we had a 7pm sitting. The alternative was however excellent and there were no complaints. The staff were friendly and attentive and I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to my friends or visit again in the near future

Great location just off BanhofstrasseRelatively small place : 2 big downsides, the wine list is very short (and priced pretty highly), and there are only 2 waiters (and I imagine a small cooking staff), so the service was really slow (despite making clear we had a train to catch and giving a lot of notice we still had to leave the place in a rush)My starter of steamed spring roll was rather good, though the chicken was too dryThe main of seared tuna was excellentDisappointing desert though (molten chocolate cake) - both too small and a touch too dryIf you have plenty of time, might be worth a visit, but you pay premium price for the location I imagine, and you can find better experiences imho

Arrived on a Tuesday evening which seemed to be the start of the 'Wild' or 'game' season for this restaurant. Parking was ample and easy to get ti by tram. Very traditional deco, cosy and welcoming service. Restaurant was very full. Wine list excellent with some ' please try me' Swiss numbers. Food was very tasty and fresh, I had a well prepared Venison with all the expected trimmings, mopped up every morsel! My dining guests also enjoyed. Would come again. Conclusion, good, honest hearty seasonal locally produced food that hadnt been messed about with, 10/10.

Excellent service, friendly, helpful, good business lunch and others, very comfortable seating, rather quiet without unpleasant music. Dessert is a tiny bit on the sweet side but beautifully presented. The price of the business lunch is acceptable for an expensive city like Zürich. My friends have lamb, they find it good. We visited the restaurant for valentines with my girlfriend and had a wonderful time.The restaurant is located on the first floor of the hotel Schweizerhof right in the heart of the city, in Bahnhofplatz. This means that you wonât simply walk by, see it and go in..but that is what I call: â..the best thing is sometimes hidden right in front of you I plain sight..â and ideal for special occasions!From the moment we arrived every member of the staff was super friendly, polite and just made every effort to make sure we had a great time! Especially Simon (our waiter) who was just perfect in every aspect and in every little detail!My girlfriend, being chef de service in another restaurant herself, notices everything when it comes to service and she was just amazed! Later she told me she felt she was treated like a princess which is exactly what any man wants to hear!The food/drinks were also great! Probably the best Hugo weâve had as a starter drink, then she had a soup and I had fish for starters which were both good. For main course we both had risottos ; one safran with Lamb and one truffle with veal schnitzel. Both main courses were excellent! The meat was cooked perfectly and the risotto was perfect as well! All paired with two glasses of great red wine. Great choices of dessert as well and they even went off catalog for me and prepared a mouse chocolate!Price wise everything was also as expected, given the quality of food and service. Definitely a pricey restaurant - $$$$ - but also definitely worth it for special occasions.I would highly recommend for couples and for special occasions!

The cabbie couldn't really find the place because it was not what he was really looking for, I believe. And my wife and I felt more or less the same way. But there it was; not very impressive on the outside, and the inside was only slightly better. But the service was marvelous and the food was superb. The wine list was pretty good, too, BUT -- like everything else in this wonderful old city -- EXPENSIVE. Wow, what a fantastic lunch along the Limmat River in Old Town Zurich! It started with fresh baked bread (delicious) and then I ordered the veal. Zurich Style he says is not breaded, and itâs in a rich mush team sauce that will force you to use the bread to get every drop off the plate. As I did. Wonderful.
