I was here for a business convention. The appetizers were a buffet style with an array of calamari (pretty good), sausages (way too salty), French fries (too yellow than normal), Rossi sticks and supposedly minestrone soup which in fact is just vegetables with a watered-down tomato taste. The lobster pasta I ordered came and I was horrified to see the state in which it was served. It’s not lobster. Just a third from a halved crayfish with 2 miserable prawns. The table wine is way too light and has an acidic after taste. The total experience is horrible. It’s such a disappointment.

We went for an early dinner so were able to get a table without booking. This restaurant is not large but is obviously popular so I would recommend making a reservation.Other than pizza and pasta the menu is fairly limited, a couple of meat dishes, same for fish and for specials. As we sat there we saw many customers come in for take-away pizza. Depending where one sits they can be a nuisance and the staff had trouble getting past them for much of the time. They needed a separate window to the outside for pizza orders and collections!Although this is an Italian style restaurant, we didn't notice anyone who spoke Italian. There is a good selection of wines on their list and service was fine.

This restaurant would best be described as Italian centric seafood restaurant. There is even a seafood display case where you can opt to select the fish for your meal. The staff at Bianchi were very professional. All the staff seemed to be from Italy, but all were multilingual. We began with the mixed seafood starter. The clams, mussels, shrimp, baby squid, octopus and fish were so fresh and very good. My seared tuna entree on a saffron cream sauce was excellent. As good as that dish was, my wife’s pan seared Branzino (sea bass) was even better and the sauce was divine. We also really liked the accompanying black rice. Bianchi is relatively expensive, but with their quality and service, the restaurant provides good value.Dear kstraveler81,Thank you for the wonderful and comprehensive review of Bianchi. Your description is pretty accurate. We are very pleased you enjoyed your meal. (And great choices you made, by the way.) Our chefs put a lot of creative effort into providing a quality eating experience for our guests, using only the freshest products available.Thank you for the five-star rating. Paulo Alexandre and his team are passionate about providing excellent customer service and hope you and your wife will be back when you are next in Zurich.la vita è bella - Adrian & Bianchi-Team

We picked this restaurant partly because of TripAdvisor reviews and partly because their website talked about slow, relaxing meals. That second part certainly did not happen. We arrived at 7:30 pm and completed. Meal complete with drinks, appetizer, and mains in an hour. The food was delicious and spot on in terms of flavor and quantity. However, before our appetizer was finished, our mains arrived without any apology for the poor timing. The service was brusque and rushed and we did not feel particularly welcome. So if the service was more welcoming and timed, this could have been a four star review. The eggplant parmigiana was very good. The ravioli filled with pumpkin and sausage tastedGood, but the cook neglected the sausage. We didn’t complain but this cost the other star. Dear Guest,We appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences with us. So sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations. But please do not expect us like a 5 star Hotel. We are not high class Italian Restaurant, just a small, friendly restaurant famed for its home-made Pasta. Although we have not fully met your expectation, we hope to welcome you back, to convince you of the quality of the house and the team.Best regards,EnzoBest regards,Enzo

I have visited Orsini many times since my last report and every time it is a great experience: personalized, and italian-friendly welcome; nice set tables, far enough from the next one to have private conversations; great menus, excellent food. My favourite is the sole with artichokes, but the venitian veal-liver is second-to-none too.Good wine liste, with prices acceptable for Zurich standards... A lovely experience each time.

SummaryWe can only recommend the place! Authentic Italian food, on the pricier side though, in a pleasantly relaxed atmosphere. An unexpected experience in Zurich. Fresh products were prepared deliciously. The only improvement possible: the squid salad was a tiny bit too cold when served.Restaurant products• There is parking space available• The website is updated• Oil or butter was offered as well as ‚greeting from the kitchen‘• We ordered: mineral water with gas, two salads, a squid salad, vitello tonnato, cappelletti “Angela” and tortelli al burro e sugo. For desert we choose panna cotta with strawberries and Semifreddo al Torrone along with two cups of espresso.Restaurant Facilities• Comfortable chairs. Tasteful paintings. No plants or fresh floral displays• Secure coat check is not available• Staff uniforms are appropriate and free from any sign of wear or dirt• Flatware was not tarnished• Restaurant lighting is comfortable, enabling menu reading, but privacy and ambiance maintained• No background music• The dining room temperature is comfortable and unnoticed by guests• Dining room exhibits an organized appearance; tables are uniformly setRestaurant Service• We were greeted personally by charming owner Angela when we entered the restaurant and bidden good-bye when we left as well.• Staff is friendly, very professional and approaches guests upon arrival and whenever needed without any delay• The payment process was efficient and swift

We visited the restaurant on a Saturday evening. The pizza was probably the best ever, the service not so much. The Good.1. The pizza was amazingly good! Probably the best ever and that is why the place gets 5 stars. The pizzas were thin Italian style, the sauce was great and the toppings plentiful and tasty. The ham and pepperoni was superb. 2. The other food was good and the outside space was nice to sit in.2. Online reservation was very easy. The Bad.1. From the outside, the place does not look the best. Outside tables are around a fountain and are quite tightly spaced whilst the inside is pleasantly decorated.2. The service was definitely hit and miss. Despite having a reservation, the very busy waiters took some time to seat us. The food was quite slow coming but at the end they ordered us a taxi which was helpful.3. By international standards, the place is expensive but reasonable for Switzerland. A pizza was about £20. OverallThe pizza was amazing and it is a pizza restaurant so despite more average service, it has to be 5 stars. Would definitely return.

TREMONDI Restaurant & Bar

The food was good, the reservation was smooth, but in general we were very underwhelmed and are puzzled by the fantastically high rating on tripadvisor, which is why we wanted to share a review. This is a restaurant that we would have found by the dozens in London or Singapore where we used to live. The food was fresh and it was very tasty, but the menu was very limited and we could actually not find anything we liked (Vitello Tonnato as the only meat option when there are at least 2 overpriced ravioli dishes, for example; and for fish only the raw tartar...all of this is way too taste-specific and there was non dish that would suit a more general palate. The menu changes every month, and it had changed on that particular day with the menu not available on the website...we actually saw other parties sit down and ask about items on the menu and leave again, but we decided to stay). Desert was also overpriced and not that great. We had a table outside, which was on the sidewalk with many people walking by very close to us (and given it is adjacent to Langstrasse, these people were sometimes not very pleasant or asking us for money). In general, this is a very expensive option for a night out, food is good, but we were looking for an anniversary dinner/special experience, which is clearly was not.Dear chooun14Thank you so much for your review. We apologize for the inconvenience regarding not timely updating of our menu on our webpage. Unfortunately there was a technical error with our server. However it‘s true that our menu is limited, but it changes completely every month and this is how our concept works. We serve seasonal dishes and for August we offer a light but a thoughtful menu. Additionally it’s important to tell you, that we work with vegetables and fruits from our own garden. In conclusion we want to mention, that in this district of the city different people roam around and we unfortunately don‘t have any influence on it.Thank you so much for coming and we hope that you visit us again, maybe in the winter months with dishes that you may prefer more.Kind RegardsJohnny
