We have been coming to Startgels annually since 2010. Back then it was one of the best restaurants on the piste with its excellent mixed grill, delicious sides and good service. Since then we have experienced things like our booking being cancelled (both here and at their sister restaurant Grandis in Laax), food of a lesser quality but higher prices (reduced choice, no gravy and since when was mixed vegetables a pile of boiled courgettes?) and poor service (slow orders, putting unopened wine on the table and being visibly annoyed when we asked for a corkscrew, providing a basket of bread instead of said corkscrew and just generally seeming disorganised and stressed). I suspect this place has become a victim of its own success; maybe they are complacent after many years of good reviews. They need to be able to be more welcoming to their guests, more organised and get the food and service back to where it was 5 years ago.

We stayed at the hotel so we ate breakfast here daily and ate dinner here once. The dinner was fabulous! Wine is a little pricey, but other than that, decently priced (for Switzerland). Ambiance classy and tweedy with excellent regional food and good service. The Easter-Special with goatling however was a disappointment, because it was practically non-existent - so menu totally misleading.. The lamb-chops with it superb.

Granted. The view (vista) is outstanding. However, this restaurant cannot be defined only by its view, but by its outstanding food, charming and competent service and great atmosphere. We tasted fish, chicken and vegetarian (which was not on the menu) and all was outstanding. Wine list with lots of choices.Restaurant is probably the best in the region.

As a result of a poor restaurant offering at our hotel, we found ourselves researching alternative options on TripAdvisor and found Las Caglias. You would definitely not find this place by accident!.....the food, atmosphere and overall ambience are well worth the effort. We ate there on a busy Saturday evening, having booked a couple of days before. All 3 courses were delicious; I started with a wonderful Steak Tartar, followed by another wonderful beef dish, whilst my wife had a turbot based main, equally well cooked, presented and tasty. To finish, my wife and I shared a toblerone mousse. Overall a great experience and highly recommended; we will definitely go back next time we are in Flims.

The restaurant has only few sitting places, therefore do reserve! We were delighted with the choice and the good quality of the dishes. In particular the starters were surprisingly well rounded, as if this was all it is. One can really see that the kitchen cares already from the begin. The kitchen is not spectacular or complicated. It is simple to understand and enjoy. Highly recommended.

We came for lunch to this great restaurant in Laax. As usual service personnel was very friendly attentive. The Epoca is located at the Waldhaus Flims Alpine Grand Hotel & Spa. The restaurant was full over Easter time and we were glad we had a reservation.Everybody is sitting in a glass cube which has been fixed to the outside of a historic building, looking into the park. It is stylish, but not overly.The staff was friendly and attentive. The wine menu is good as well.We both had starters and a main. Nühus Bed & Breakfast suggested we try Am Brunnen and we are happy they did - otherwise we would never have known about this fantastic place. The food was simply outstanding! Everything was excellently prepared - really world class! Service was super friendly but professional and we enjoyed every aspect of the meal, even the stark white design of the dining room (which apparently shocks most Swiss people). This is still an undiscovered gem, well worth the detour, just go before it become the next big thing!
