Sant Joan d'Alacant (Valencian pronunciation: [saɲ dʒuˈan dalaˈkant]) is a municipality belonging to Alicante metropolitan area, in the southeast of Valencian Community, Spain. It is the geographic center of the Old Garden of Alicante. Its limits are with the settled areas of Alicante (7 km), Mutxamel (1 km) and El Campello (3 km). It is within the Alicante metropolitan area and shares the same fire department and metro services. Its population growth is due to its function as a bedroom community, as well as in recent years, its isolation from tourist areas, its cultural and academic activities, and because has part of the campus of the University Miguel Hernández of Elx/Elche. It comprises two zones: the town of Sant Joan and Benimagrell, which is now joined through its urban expansion.

What a great culinary experience. Different from the general spanish food with its Basque influence. An excellent selection of starters which are very very generous portions so the waiter suggested either to share or have a half ration. This was the start of his helpful recommendations. The main courses where superb with 2 of our party having meat dishes and the choice of sauces where really good and well prepared. The fish dishes out did the meat dishes on both counts and I have to say the advertise that the HAKE is their speciality AND IT IS. The waiter could not have been more helpful in his explaination of the menu and recommendation of the local wines.SERVICE, VALUE FOR MONEY AND FOOD al; EXCELLENT

After visiting once last year. We decided to visit again! We ate here on our first evening and couldnât resist going again on our last evening. The food is very delicious, we had the Spanish T-Bone steak to share, it really was (and still is) the best meat we ever tasted.The waiters and also the lovely manager are very attentive even on busy nights! I have been coming to the area for many years and never realised this restaurant existedI am so glad that I do now!!The service, surroundings and food are exceptional, my only criticism was that the menus is only in Spanish so the next time I go I will translate beforehandI wanted to find a new restaurant to add to my list of favourites and this is definitely going on that list.

We went here for a family meal and really enjoyed the food, but be prepared for paying a lot for this experience. Children are catered for, but â¬12 for a very small ham and cheese pizza was extortionate. The breads provided were lovely, but had to be paid for, another â¬12...The decor and surrounds are really nice, and would certainly be a great place for a romantic meal for two. Leave the kids at home and truly relish the experience!

What a place and right on our door step, we have over looked this place 3 or 4 times and walked to the restaurants at the beach NEVER AGAIN. The service was great they were so busy and you couldnât get a table, the lovely chap found us a table and spoke great English. We opted for the Big grill he advised we would probably be better going for the Big grill on the menu for 2 (included 2 starters which were delicious, our chosen Big grill, desert and 2 drinks) only 32 Euro what a deal . We struggled to finished and they were more than happy to allow my son to take home his pizza in a box. We have been to this place twice in a week and on both occasions have been well and truly satisfied with both the food and the service.We had the mixed grill on both occasions and also the empanadillas starters which are superb! All the meat is cooked to perfection and perfectly tender.On the first visit we did have to wait a while for service on a couple of occasions but the restaurant was busy and buzzing.The second occasion we were almost turned away because they were fully booked but the owner went out of his way to fit us in which were very grateful for as we had travelled especially for this meal tonight.The restaurant has its own small car park which is a bonus.I would certainly recommend this place as a must try and we will certainly be visiting again when we come back to Spain which is every year for us!Also I had to mention the extra mile the waiter went too when he noticed I had drop some food on to my top! See photo for what he brought me without even asking. Top class service!You have made a perfect description of what we intend that, like you, each one of our clients feels when they come to visit us. Cannot understand why this is rated so highly! We travelled by taxi from other side of San Juan because of the high ratings but left extremely disappointed.We arrived on a Friday evening about 8.30, restaurant was empty. We ordered drinks, we then ordered steaks, entrcote for my wife and sirloin for myself, and asked for them to be cooked rare.They came with french fries and mild peppers. We were amazed how quickly the food was served, literally 5 - 10 minutes. The steaks were raw in parts, there is a difference between raw and cooked rare!! They were full of fat and grizzle and unpleasant to eat. We pointed this out to Antonio the owner and he literally did not want to know arguing that that was the manner of this type of steak. WHAT NONSENSE. We paid and left. Needless to say we won't be back.Good afternoon and thank you for sharing your opinion.The weekends here in Spain usually dinner after 8:30 pm, that's the reason why there are less people and we can serve the customers faster, than when the restaurant is full.Related about the meat there are some with more fat than others, as you said sirloin we do not serve in our restaurant, perhaps you tried the Iberian pen, which is just a meat fat, and for that reason, usually our customers like it because that grease have a very special taste and for this reason fond and melts in the mouth, apart from the very good taste that all our customers comment.We always approach after serving the dishes to ask if everything is fine, if there is not cooking or anything else, and to be able to solve any detail in time, we tend to pay close attention about cooking, but if you return to dinner and it is not correct , do not hesitate in commenting, and we solve it.I hope to welcome you again and you can enjoy as all our customers the quality of our meats.A cordial greeting,Antonio Zamarreño
