Staff was great. Place very clean. Huge menu. I could have gone to Nino's & bought the lunch meat & bread & made the sandwich myself. I would have had included all the fixings too. The coleslaw was not very good. Don't recommend. Won't go back.

New York Deli is my brotherâs favorite lunch restaurant in St. Clair Shores so I wanted to try it with friends. This is a great neighborhood dining spot. The menu is varied and certain to please all diners. I tried beef barley soup with a liverwurst sandwich. We were all talking beforehand saying, âDid we eat pink or grey liverwurst as kids? Is it either fresh or smoked? Is the pink the fresh one?â When my half sandwich (nice to be able to order a half sandwich) arrived, it was the delicious pink liverwurst that my Dad was such a fan of, so naturally we kids were as well. Great with mustard. The bread was excellent. My friends ordered knockwurst and sauerkraut (hold the potatoes), egg salad sandwich and a burger. Really good lunch. Everyone was pleased. The staff is friendly. Service is attentive. Lots of daily soup offerings. You canât go wrong here.

German chocolate muffins? Awe inspiring.Soups? A dozen every day.The ideas here a great...But, like the Turkey Reuben I had? Average at best... the turkey tasted bland and kind of old... the cole slaw was sweet... tasted like it was NOT prepared on site... even the pickle was industrial out of the jar rubbery. Edible, yes. Remarkable? Not close.But that German chocolate muffin? Now yer talkin!And everyone liked their soup.

If you're looking for a light bite or filling meal you can find it here. Caters to vegetarian as well. The caprese sandwich is great and the soups (there are a ton) are always fantastic and filling. Durng lunch rush you might have a hard time getting a seat so you may want to get it to go.

Older restaurant had a very friendly staff. Our waitress suggested a few meals from different sections of the menu. We followed her recommendations. The chicken A La Firenze was nicely seasoned and served with a spicy dipping sauce. Chicken Parmesan was also a very good suggestion. The table next to us ordered fried cheese cake for dessert which looked very good. The table said the cheesecake was perfection.Thanks for the great review.
