I ate here for the first time on this past Thursday, February 1, 2018 and have lived to regret it since this time. First of all, the manager was knee deep in cleaning the fryers prior to closure. This gave me pause as I had never witnessed this at any restaurant previously. I asked multiple questions with regard to this practice and was basically given information that made a bit of sense to me. My work in the past has been as a restaurant reviewer and investigator paid by the state to ensure that all health policies and procedures were being followed. This restaurant would have failed miserably. I basically placed an order, paid for it, left, arrive home to hopefully enjoy the fish and chicken I purchased. NOT SO! The food lacked any taste at all, the chicken was overcooked and the fish tasted old. It in effect had no taste at all. I went back the next day to request my money back and was rebuffed but told I could replace my order. I did so, reluctantly. The manager basically side-eyed me and immediately said NO to his cashier. I again noted health department violations (is the flour changed during the course of the day, how often (flour carries meat contaminates)) is the fish cooked in different fryers than chicken, how was the chicken and fish pre-prepped, how are French Fries managed; how hot is the oil, was the meat tested according to health department regulations once the food was cooked; did the workers use and change gloves appropriately and the like, are workers talking to each other or paying attention to clients/customers; more specifically, were health and safety regulations followed)? Absolutely NOT! I took the food prepared for me and tossed it immediately in the garbage. The ultimate insult occurred when I received a phone call from my bank the next morning about 6:00 a.m. asking if I had made a large purchase online that morning (February 1, 2018)? I had not and thankfully the fraud department detected the fraudulent purchase. The last place I used my Debit Card was at Captain Hooks. It took a very long time for the cashier to return my card to me. Not accusing the cashier just wondering. At any rate, I will NEVER eat here again and will advise my friends and family members NOT to EVER eat there again. I hope this review will help you choose whether you will eat here again...

The hostess said it would be a few minutes to get us a table, we requested to be in the room by the door, it was empty, she seemed surprised, and seated us immediately. It was nice, quiet, and didn’t seem as crowded as the main dining area. We started with oysters on the half shell, then we decided to be brave and try the roasted bone marrow, it was surprisingly good, with the jam, sea salt and lemon. We thought those were our appetizers, so we then ordered our Main Dishes, we thought we would share. We ordered the Octopus and the Ahi Tuna. We were surprised when only the octopus came out in a small bowl, we shared and enjoyed it. Then came the Ahi Tuna again on a small bowl. It too was very tasty. We hadn’t realized we were ordering topas.. Our server was very nice and extremely helpful and knowledgeable about all the dishes and cocktails. We tried several cocktails while we were there as well. All in all it was a really nice interesting meal, with all the small servings, it’s easy to leave and still be hungry. But the food is very good.. And I would opt to sit in the room to the side, it’s much quieter, and they don’t seem to put you there unless you ask..

Now I know oysters taste like whatever they are dipped in. I don't know what the fuss is about. (12 for $15 with a nice presentation). My meal was very good. Lake Superior whitefish, grilled with garlic glaze. $22 for enough to bring home half. It came with crusty zucchini sticks which were delicious, though I should not have eaten the breading. Couldn't help myself. The servers were very attentive and accurate. The place was sparcely populated on a Thursday evening, so it was quite enough to convere. My husband was not as impressed with his swordfish ($29), saying "fish in Florida" is better. He didn't leave a bite, however, and loved the smashed potatoes.

I ordered the shrimp trio and the walt's favorite shrimp. Both entrees were saturated in grease. You could literally squeeze the grease from the fried shrimp. The shrimp alfredo was saturated in some kind of butter sauce. Excuse me I'm feeling nauseated writing this because I'm still sitting at the table. The food was prepared like a fast food restaurant and that's being nice. The biscuits are greasy. The green and mushrooms were overcooked and greasy. Wow! At this point, White Castle woud have been a better choice. If you choose this location by mistake make sure to bring plenty of antacids! I'm not taking any leftovers home. Feeling sick!
