A former food truck owner, Jessie has put down roots and on a Wednesday (not Mardi Gras) the place was packed-- and rightly so. The food was authentic and superb. We tried several entrees and they were all wonderful. Even folks who usually eat only a portion of their meal, planning on taking the rest home for the next night's meal, devoured every morsel. We will be back very soon.

I was here ages ago and didn't recall it being memorable. When my Dad (fairly new to Colorado) wanted to go for a nice brunch to celebrate his 70th (and my daughters 10th), someone suggested this place to him. I reluctantly agreed to go with low expectations.Reservations weren't the easiest to get for a party of 5. I was shooting for 11am but only 1pm was open. I did get a call that morning from the restaurant offering an earlier time. We happily accepted and went around 1130am.Located in the Inverness Hotel, we walked into the lobby and they were doing fresh caramel apple slices with a toppings bar. Kids were sold right there.Restaurant was nice. Service was spot on. They explained the layout of the buffet and off we all went. I don't like using the word "buffet" to describe this restaurant as the word conjures up images of quick mass produced cheap quality food served in an atmosphere that makes you want to disinfect your hands. The Garden Terrace offerings in my opinion were carefully crafted, flavorful, high quality and unique. The atmosphere is classy yet comfortable. The live music was a nice touch.Personal favorites from our table were the following. The eggs Benedict was a hit - the eggs yolk was runny and perfectly cooked. The prime rib had a delicious rub on it. I loved the cold beef salad with mint. I am normally not a dessert person but the offerings were perfect sized and tasty. It is a pricy meal but we will definitely be back for special occasions as they pop up. Thanks for a nice birthday brunch.

Red Lobster

We went to Red Lobster to use a gift card from the Holidays. Due to price, Red Lobster is a “treat” destination. This lunch was an enjoyable and tasty treat. Service was just ok. Our server spoke pretty fast and some of the options had to be repeated and clarified. Refills were infrequent. The menu was plentiful. Almost overwhelming. But we narrowed down our choices. I opted for the Grilled Shrimp and Breaded Flounder with a Baked Potato. The complimentary biscuits were delivered warm and quickly. They were delicious. Side Caesar Salad was average but enjoyable. Main dish arrival was in good time. The Shrimp were cooked well and flavorful. The Baked Flounder was very good. Nice flakiness and a good flavor. We were both very happy with the quality and taste of the meal. Lunch for 2 of us was just under $50. Pricey for a normal lunch but nice for a special occasion. Thank you for giving the Lone Tree Red Lobster 4 stars, Jay, we look forward to giving you a 5 star experience next time.

I've eaten at Sonoda's for lunch and dinner and have always thought it was pretty good, not outstanding. Today was really pretty "just okay." My husband and I both ordered the spicy seafood udon noodles. They came with salad and miso. The salad dressing was really good but they put way too much on. The miso was fine, as expected. The udon noodle bowl was tasty, but the seafood in it was way overcooked. The 3 shrimp had clearly been boiled for awhile so they were tough. Likewise, the 3 clams and 1 mussel were rubbery from overcooking. The bay scallops were a little less overcooked and there were unidentifiable pieces of white seafood, probably calamari and/or octopus. One bite with a piece of white seafood tasted of ammonia, which was pretty nasty. The broth was tasty though, and piping hot, which may account for some of the overcooking. So I didn't complain because it wasn't awful, I just expected it to be better. So when we went to pay the bill (we had a Groupon for $30) we had only spent $28 before tax so they said we had to order something else. It was over $30 with the tax and I have never been told they couldn't take the Groupon if you didn't spend the full amount. We weren't expecting change or anything. So we ordered a green tea to go, which was pretty ridiculous but it satisfied the server. So that's my story. Probably wouldn't order the spicy udon seafood noodles again.
