It is located on the Northern, Western and Southern banks of the Guadalete river, which flows around three sides of the city under towering vertical cliffs, to Jerez and on to the Bay of Cádiz. the bar specialises in Teas from many different places. it sells good wines and pastries made by Mrs Padua! not the type of run of the mill pastries in other bars, each one her own recipe.inside it is small and many locals use the bar so lots of times the conversations are loud! there are tables in the street which are great on a warm day or evening. it closes around 20.30 and is closed on Saturdaysprices are very reasonable for home cooked foodlocated in the old town near the main church it is on the tourist route

I'm not sure if this restaurant cum bar is newly opened, but what a superb place. We discovered it because it was one of the few places that was open for for food at around 7pm. Little else opened until 8 or 8.30pm by which time we would have faded to nothing. We had already walked from the Parador hotel in to town and back looking for a restaurant who's kitchen was open, and we were so glad we selected this one. The owner was great and so welcoming. We sat at an outdoor table and he chose our first two tapas; bull in a homemade sauce, and peppers stuffed with fish in some delicious sauce. Both were brilliant but the beef really stood out as a superb dish. By then we had google translator fired up and chose the next 2 tapas ourselves; courgettes with spinach (very tasty), and kidneys cooked in sherry (superb). The house wine was excellent as were the two desserts we chose. It turns out all the food is homemade by the owner's wife and mother which is probably why it tastes so good. It was good fun conversing with the owner in his limited English and our limited Spanish, but we had a great night. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
