My husband and I both grew up with Pizza King, but where we live there are none within 100 miles. When we visit home, we have to have Pizza King pizza!

I've given this place a few opportunities thinking anyone can have an off night. But, the service was equally terrible each time. In fact, they seemed oblivious to the need to satisfy customers at all. Perhaps they prefer to cater to the many patrons happy sit and drink beer all night--that is certainly less taxing than actually taking orders and bringing food. The final time I visited, there were five of us and it took 20 minutes just to get a menu (should have left then) even though not crowded. 20 minutes later after physically tracking down and bringing over waitstaff, we ordered...3 pizzas ('pizza' is in their name, right? Should be easy) 2 for there and 1 to take back to family at the lake. After 60 additional minutes we decided to leave...(In that 60 minutes we saw the waitress only twice..each time standing and talking and laughing with the bar patrons). Perhaps they think they have a captive audience since there aren't many dining options nearby at the lake...but, for me and my neighbors we would rather drive 30 minutes or even eat frozen pizza rather than try this place again. I wish people would stop putting up with this treatment and perhaps Portside would be forced to return to the responsive establishment they were prior to expansion. As I write this they have ZERO good reviews. What a shame.

We've gone past this place lots of times, and finally decided to give it a try. It feels like time has stood still here, and that makes for a cute atmosphere. Booth seats have wooden bottoms, so not the most comfortable ever. The food was only fair. I had the buffalo chicken hoagie, and it tasted pretty good, although there wasn't very much chicken. My wife had the broasted chicken and it was quite tasteless. Also the green beans appeared to be right out of a can. Overall... not so much!
