I had high hopes after seeing where Las Espuelas ranked on Trip Advisor. Upon entering, I was impressed with the sunny, Mexican motif interior.With the average price of a meal pushing $20 I became curious to see if the food would match the pricing. Unfortunately, the food was exactly the same as every other American-Mexican restaurant. Your basic dry white rice with something making it reddish, sloppy refried beans with cheddar cheese and uninspired entrees. The service was below average.I donât give negative reviews easily but if you are looking for inspired American-Mexican food, unfortunately, you wonât find it at Las Espuelas.

I always get the Mondo Burrito, and it is always packed full of meat, rice, and cheese. It's similar to what you get at a sit-down restaurant, but crammed in a burrito that's perhaps 3 inches or so in diameter. It's a different taste than say Taco Time. Comparing the two, you get more packed in there at Taco Del Mar, but no Mexi fries! The Mondo Burrito is appropriately filling for an adult male's lunchtime meal.

Went here for dinner and had the Huevos Rancheros and my friend had the Arroz Con Pollo.The serving portions were large but the food was just average. Service was quick and we didn't have to ask for soda refills as they just kept them coming.Since it was cold outside (25) the restaurant felt cool inside since the door is pretty close to the seating area. (Ask for a seat in the back away from the front entry if this will bother you.)It's a bit pricey for the quality you get although portion sizes are fine.

I noticed this restaurant while headed to the grocery store nearby. It was a new neighborhood for me to explore. I decided to have an early dinner and try this restaurant. The server was friendly and brought the best thin, hot chips and salsa right away. I ordered the Avocado Tostada with chicken and it was very good. All the ingredients tasted fresh and the portion was generous. I didn't feel like the food was too spicy or heavy, like you get at some Mexican restaurants. The restaurant and bar area are nicely decorated and clean,and there's also outside patio seating. If you're going for lunch between 11:00 and 3:00, there are lunch combos on the menu.

After driving by this restaurant for over 30 yrs. Always wondering if it was worth stopping. We finally stoped for lunch, the place was packed and for good reason. The food is extremely reasonable price wise. Food quality is great, atmosphere lets say family style.Would I go again? Yes.
