We came back to our favorite local workout site. From the park entrance to the lower parking lot, there is a stair climb of 188 steps. It also has several exercise stations at the stair breaks and a counter board at the top. It’s rarely crowded and the view beats your stair stepper any day.

Cinebarre - Mountlake Terrace

Reviewed By DP49 - Edmonds, WA

We went on a recent Sunday afternoon and pulled into a near empty parking lot. We quickly realized it was obviously due to the football game. The resulting benefit was the added enjoyment of a less than half filled theater. Also, Cinebarre has upgraded their food and beverage service call system. In the past, you would prop your order slip upright on the bar table in front of your seat and then wait for servers to notice. Now, there is a call button evenly spaced along the tables. Service is now faster and you don’t have employees roaming the aisles. Today, I ordered the potato skins and they were great.

Boeing Creek Park

Went for a walk and found a treasure that was always in my backyard. My wife and I spent three hours exploring the many trails, meadows and features of this very urban park. It goes mostly unexplored and vacant even on the weekends. We even were able to hike down a little creek hopping from rock to log. Wonderful indeed.

We stayed in Edmunds while in the area for a weekend of ball games. It’s a cute little town with a great promenade along the water with a great little playground for the kiddos! You can watch the ferry’s and other boats enjoy time at the beach and park area! It would be a great place to spend a relaxing afternoon with a picnic outside the hustle of Seattle

Diablo Lake Overlook

Reviewed By Jade M - Camas, Washington

The overlook has a good sized parking lot, there are some picnic tables here to spend some time and enjoy the view.
The lake is gorgeous and the views all around are beautiful.
You wouldn't need to spend much time here, but it is absolutely a must when driving the North cascades highway.

Crest Cinema Center

Reviewed By D0000D - Covington, Washington

This theater has been around for a long time. It shows current films a few weeks after they've finished their first run in major theaters and indie films. The ticket prices are very inexpensive ($4 at the time of this review for standard films; there's an up-charge for 3D) although you do pay a premium for concessions. The best value for concessions is the large size of popcorn and soda which includes unlimited refills. The theater is old, but is in the process of being renovated. It is in a nice neighborhood and the clientele and staff were friendly and courteous. We saw The Martian in theater one (of four) and the seats were brand new and comfortable. The screen was plenty large enough and the experience was great. There is fair amount of parking at the theater and plenty of parking in the nearby neighborhood. We had no trouble finding a place to park. This theater is a great value and we definitely plan to return.

Spin Alley Bowling Center

Reviewed By Randal S - Seattle, Washington

Spin Alley is a real gem in Shoreline! The property is modern, clean, and welcoming with no vestages of an old-time bowling alley. The staff really enjoys their work and it shows; we were greeted like friends and quickly assigned shoes and an alley. The bowling facility is clean, modern, and appointed with all the goodies you want - electronic scorekeeping and lots of big screen TVs. We didn't miss one play of Sunday's big game.

The food was excellent and in no way remined us of bowling-alley food. This place breaks the mold. Food and drink service to our lanes was excellent. And we didn't have to pay the outrageous prices of the yuppie places to have just as good a time.

We'll be back to Spin Alley many more times!

Shoreline Library

Reviewed By Kokopelli_45 - Seattle, Washington

Lots of parking, close to the freeway, ample bathroom facilities, many helpful staff (including volunteers), and a beautiful interior. This is my favorite library. They have 2 meeting rooms and always seem to have some program or homework help going on in them. Teens are always hanging out quietly doing homework or chilling quietly in small groups. There are about 30 computers available for public use but beware - they run much slower than home computers most people have these days, so bring your patience. There are black/white and color printers available and library cold holders/patrons can print 75 black and white or 25 color pages free per week (Sunday through Saturday) for free, but you can't print any more than that. The large interior is well lit and cool on hot days and warm on cold days. There are TONS of books on the shelves as well as audio cds, magazines, and movies (on DVD) available for free rental/checkout - most books are 28 days checkout as are most tv series on dvd, but movies are 7-day checkouts. You can access the KCLS database online and reserve items to be sent to this or you local library for pickup (they ship once available and hold for you for 7 days to pick up). There are also a handful of small study rooms that can be reserved for a couple hours for study groups. I go here about once a week and always enjoy it. Note: don't try to print something within 15 minutes of closing, print servers have delays and printers get overwhelmed so you may be stuck without your prints after 90 minutes of research.

Kruckeberg Botanic Garden

Reviewed By kalindria - Edmonds, Washington

Dr. Kruckeberg and his wife created a garden oasis here in the heart of this little town, planting thousands of native and exotic plants. It's a great place to wander and enjoy nature. Wile our visit was in December and there weren't many flowers, we still enjoyed the lovely plants and trees. We also bought a few native plants for our garden at home.

There are a few picnic tables scattered about if you want to bring a picnic. There's also a place where kids can create their own fairy abode - supplies provided. The garden offers classes too - check out their website.

Fun place to visit and I'll be back!
