First off the top floor is 360° views of Matagalpa and that says a lot. We had an Asian dish (Tepykan Chiken) and Nachos (huge portion and tastey). Both were perfect for their respective styles. Again, view was killer and the beer was cold. Recommended!

I stopped here for dinner after reading the description in the Mood Guide Nicaragua. I happened to be walking by when I saw a mariachi band warming up outside. There were tables with locals inside, so I figured it had to be decent. Not even close.I chose a table inside near the fountain and ordered chilaquiles for dinner. I tried to read my book while waiting, but was distracted by the loud Spice Girls and Vengaboys music playing over the loudspeaker. The mariachis came in to see if anyone wanted them to play a song and I swear if I had any small bills with me, I would have paid them money just in order to get Spice Girls off the loudspeaker. Unfortunately, I didn't have any small bills so I just kept reading. No one took them up on their offer, so they just went back outside and waited for more customers.My food came out next and it ended up being the most revolting plate of chilaquiles that I have ever seen in my life. I have had chilaquiles many, many times including at other restaurants in Nicaragua and have never seen a mess quite like what ended up on my plate this evening. It was a disgusting plate of mush. There was chicken and cheese on top which was actually okay, but I could not eat the chip mush below and ended up not eating much of it. What made the meal even worse was the fact that I got 14 mosquito bites while sitting at the table. I didn't realize that the fountain (which I thought was empty), actually had a standing pool of water in the bottom of it and it was breeding mosquitoes. I had not encountered any mosquitoes so far on my trip to Nicaragua until sitting in this restaurant. The Moon Guide said the food at this place is pretty good, so I think I just made a poor choice on what I ordered. That being said, they really do need to do something about that fountain if they've got mosquitoes breeding in it!

Here in Matagalpa there is a great little Mexican restaurant -- great ambience with clever happy decoration, fresh and delicious food, excellent service and an owner couple who are lovely enchanting. I highly recommend it.Matagalpinos, por favor, notan este chiquito restaurante GUAKMOLE que vale la pena probar -- lindo ambiente con buena y fresca comida mexicana, excelente atención y propietarios encantadores. I've traveled extensively throughout Nicaragua, and El Chile Picante, by far, has the best Burrito. This burrito may even be the best burrito in Central America. it's mix of pineapple, El pastor, onions, peppers, beans and shredded cheese is what I imagine heaven must taste like. The staff are also a lot of fun to be around. They're proud, but I think that comes with being the Nicaraguan Beatles of Burrito fabrication.If you are not in the mood for a mind-blowing burrito, their top-secret torta is tasty as well. they're other meat options are pretty good, but the Al Pastor is next-level - something that you would think only a company like Apple or Google would have the smarts to develop.they're currently working on a breakfast burrito as well. while still in development, this burrito already evokes thoughts of beautiful white doves being released and briefly transports you to Valhalla. Additionally, at 80 cord, will fill you up for a good while.seriously, this is my favorite place to eat in Matagalpa. it also is in Park Dario, which means you could eat your dinner and then walk across the street to Besame and have a scoop of ice cream. this is an awesome mix and I do it frequently.

Ow how we love Mexican food. This place is good. We've eaten here twice and wasn't disappointed either times. It can't compare to our California Mexican food, or our meals while in Mexico... But considering where we are, it hits the spot, when your craving Mexican food.
