Excellent option in Matagalpa

Although the booking site indicated I could not change my reservation, the owner had no problem allowing me to change it. Very beautiful hotel just a couple minutes walk to city center. Surrounded on all sides by walls, and behind a big gate that was manned 24 hours, so very secure. Very beautiful garden, and the rooms were a very unique style. All of the necessities, including wifi, television, and safe in the room. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. I believe the coffee is made from beans grown on the premise.

Any requests were welcomed with a miserable face and seems as if you are annoying them. Room was ok, only saving grace was that it had a warm shower but you cannot use the aircon, they said that it was a different price but booking websites do not give you the option for aircon rooms. (hotel facility lists fan) Breakfast was fruit, juice, piece of sweet bread and the worst coffee that was served in this coffee growing region. Would choose another place if I returned to Matagalpa.

A gem in Matagalpa
Reviewed By Bobby II cannot praise this hotel enough. Aldo and his mother Myraiam are the perfect hosts that go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms are spacious and the bed is large and the bathroom is big with a walk in hot/cold shower. TV and air conditioning in the room and good wifi all over the hotel. There is a covered lounge/breakfast area and a little swimming pool too. They can arrange pick up or drop off to the airport in Managua and also arrange any sight seeing tours you may want to do. When I told Aldo I had to go to Managua one day to get a PCR COVID test to return to the US he found a way to get me an antigen test done at the hotel. He saved me a long day in Managua and the $150 test fee. I was able to then enjoy one more day in Matagalpa. I stayed a total of 13 days and loved every minute of it. The breakfast is delicious and more than enough. The coffee and juice perfect.

Smelly room without a window
Reviewed By IngetHThe room smells dirty/damp and has no window. They told me that was the upgrade. If that is the case i dont want to see my real room. They suggested other rooms but all close to the frontdesk where always people are and talking, so no the quiet room i requested is available. Everyone has to buzz to get in. Always noise. Staff is friendly. Hot showers have so much attention that i didn’t manage to have one. Great taxi service. Reason for average is the smell that grasps you when entering and the noise.

Reviewed By jrscalfI stayed at Hotel y Restaurante Las Orquídeas in San Ramon for two days as I was looking around the area for property to buy. I found the staff and owner to be very helpful and friendly. The restaurant food was not only excellent but the portions were large. The hotel itself is a beautiful building with very large clean rooms, which included A/C and hot water (in Nicaragua when traveling outside of the larger cities hot water is an exception). The bed was king sized and very comfortable. My room was on the second floor and had a small (standing) balcony where I could see the city park next door. I will be traveling back checking on different properties from time to time and when I do I will stay here.

Reviewed By leslie1666Fuimos en semana santa. Al principio no nos abrieron para realizar el check in, luego entendimos que era porque solo una muchacha estaba trabajando en todas las áreas. Fue bastante amable y se esforzaba mucho, pero no fue adecuado dejarla sola. Por lo tanto, todo fue bastante tardado. La comida estaba rica pero se tardo mucho, el cuarto estaba bastante bien y cómodo, al igual que el baño.
